Stampin’ Up! Perched in a Tree Aspens for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is “Fall Frenzy”!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

I am a big fan of leaves for Autumn/Fall cards and some bare trees – like…Aspens! – just adds to my fan-hood!  So…I pulled out the Perched in a Tree bundle with its Aspen Tree die set.  Then I colored some Rustic Harvest DSP with my Blending Brushes, and cut a few gold glimmer wheat tops with the Wheat Dies.  Take a look-see:

I started with a 6″ x 6″ piece of the Rustic Harvest DSP – the black and white leaves design.  I used my Blending Brushes to color the DSP with Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie ink.  I colored the entire panel and then cut off a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece – saving the remainder for the envelope flap.  I adhered the larger piece to a Basic Black mat.

I used the large Aspen Tree die to cut the image from the middle of a Very Vanilla card front – then I adhered it to the panel with Liquid Glue. HINT:  did you know…you can get this amazing die set for FREE with a $100 order right now?  Yep – SU! just added the Aspen Tree Die set with a $100+ order (before shipping & Tax) thru the end of Sale-A-Bration on 31 Aug!

I used a Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Marker to highlight some of the embossed bark marks on the die cut.

Using the two leaves dies in the Aspen Tree Dies, I cut two leaves from Distressed Gold 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper and two from Pumpkin Pie cardstock. I used the Blending Brush to add some Pumpkin Pie ink to the two cardstock die cut leaves.

I also use the Wheat Dies to cut three small wheat tops from a piece of gold Glimmer 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper.

Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the large leaves and the Wheat die cuts to the card front.

On a piece of Very Vanilla I stamped the Perched in a Tree sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Over the top, I stampd the splatters image from the set in stamped-off-once Crushed Curry.  Then I cut it out with the next-to-smallest of the thinner dies in the Rectangle Stitched Die set.

I popped the sentiment onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then used Dimensionals and Liquid Glue to adhere the two smaller leaves.

I tied a little bow from a length of Linen Thread and a length of gold Simply Elegant Trim and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I added some gems from the Leaf Labels and Amber Gem Combo Pack and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the Perched in a Tree branch – upright like a tree – in Sahara Sand on a Very Vanilla panel. Then I added the two splatter images in Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Pumpkin Pie card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the tree from Perched in a Tree in Sahara Sand, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie on the front…

…and that saved piece of Rustic Harvest DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Wow – there’s so much to love on this card!  The gorgeous aspen trees and embossed leaves from the Aspen Tree die set – plus the pretty sentinet from the bundled Perched in a Tree stamp set.  I love love love the black and white paper from Rustic Harvest DSP colored in autumn hues with Blending Brushes.  Just the perfect peek behind those bare trees, don’t you think!?
