Stampin’ Up! Sweet Songbird Something To Celebrate CAS Card

Good morning, y’all – did you have a good weekend?  Are you ready to be back at work? I’m not sure that’s even a thing… 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I’ve got a card for you today that is just…plain…cute!  It’s uses the sweet Sweet Songbirds bundle – that’s a punch-bundle, with the quick and handy Songbird Builder Punch.  And a little Painted Christmas DSP – for a NOT-Christmas Card – plus the pretty Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

I started by embossing a Basic White panel in the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder and then matting it on a piece of Tahitian Tide cardstock for the card front.

Next, I cut three small rectangles of non-Christmasy leafy paper from the Painted Christmas DSP – matted them on Garden Green with Liquid Glue – and then adhered the whole thing to the card front with more Liquid Glue.

Using the next-to-largest circle in the Stylish Shapes Die set, I cut a Basic White circle.

Across the bottom, I stamped the branch from Sweet Songbirds in Crumb Cake ink.  At the end of the branch, I stamped some leaves in Garden Green.

I stamped Crumb Cake bird feet onto the branch – and a few musical notes in Poppy Parade and adhered the circle to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the cute little Sweet Songbird guy in Tahitian Tide and punched him out with the bundled Songbird Builder Punch.  I also stamped a wing – I stamped over it a few times (this is a photopolymer set, so it was easy to do!) to make it just a little darker shade of Tahitian Tide.  Then I punched it out, too!

I added eyes – there a tiny stamp for that! – in Tuxedo Black.  I colored his beak with my Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker.

Then I adhered the bird with Liquid Glue and popped the wing in place with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I tied a tiny bow from Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I stamped the Sweet Songbirds sentiment in Garden Green on a piece of Basic White and cut it out with the smallest banner die in Stylish Shapes – then popped it over the bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A few 2022-2024 In Color Matte Dots in Tahitian Tide finished off the card front!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Sweet Songbirds in Garden Green on a Basic White panel. In the corner I added a Crumb Cake branch (and bird feet!), the other bird from the set in Tahitian Tide, and some leaves in Garden Green.  One last Tahitian Tide In Color Matte Dot seemed like a good idea!  And some Poppy Parade notes.  Those are ALWAYS a good plan! 😉

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Tahitian Tide mat and into my Garden Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got some Sweet Songbirds music notes in Poppy Parade ink on the front…

…and more of the Painted Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! I think the Sweet Songbirds stamp set – with the bundled and oh-so-handy Songbird Builder Punch! – is just the cutest thing.  The eyelashes on the little bird just kill me!  And – don’t miss Painted Christmas DSP – it’s NOT just for Christmas anymore!
