Stampin’ Up! Charming Sentiments, Rugged Icons & Rings of Love Birthday with Video Tutorial

Good morning good morning and welcome to Friday.  Again!  It’s almost the weekend – are you ready, skeedaddy!?!  A BUNCH of you have a Sales Tax Holiday this weekend – starting today!  Be SURE to check out the table I’ve provided below to see if YOUR state is on the list and then…get to saving!!

My card today is one that I made a little bit ago for my friend’s birthday – and held it back so that she wouldn’t see it.  But – she’s been eating the chocolate chocolate chip banana bread I sent, so…the cat is out of the bag! This one uses the Rings of Love DSP and the coordinating Ringed with Nature stamp set, the Charming Sentiment Bundle and two a la carte goodies – the Rugged Icons Dies and Twigs & Sprigs 3D Embossing Folder and Die.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this card hails from the Sunday Stamps sketch challenge this week.

This is the card that I made on my Facebook Live yesterday – if you were able to join me, I appreciate you spending part of your week with me!  If not, and you’d like to see the replay, here ’tis on YouTube!

I started by embossing a Crumb Cake panel in the Twigs & Sprigs 3D Embossing Folder – without the coordinating die inside.  Then I adhered the embossed panel to the front of a Crumb Cake card base with Liquid Glue.

Then I matted a piece of the Rings of Love DSP on a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Y’all – this DSP is BACK!!  But…I don’t know for how long, so…GETCHA some right now!!

I used the Second-from-smallest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut a piece of tree-strewn Rings of Love DSP and the next smallest die to cut a piece of blue-green paper (it’s the BACK of the bird paper used on the front!) – and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I ran another piece of Crumb Cake thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine inside the Twigs & Sprigs 3D Embossing Folder – this time WITH the die in place.  That gave me a whole bevy of cool embossed foliage!  I adhered one of them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using my Dark Mossy Meadow and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends, I colored two Textural Elements and then adhered them with Liquid Glue.

Using a Glue Dot, I adhered a figure-8-loop of Linen Thread.

I used the Rugged Icons die to cut out the round Crumb Cake mountain “scene” – I used an Adhesive Sheet (yes – I actually REMEMBERED them!!) on the back of the Crumb Cake cardstock – then I adhered the die cut to a Night of Navy Layering Circles die cut.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the matted die cut to the card front over top of the Linen Thread loops.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Charming Sentiments sentiment in Night of Navy ink.  Then I used the coordinating die from the bundled Sentiment Silhouettes die set to cut it out.  I used double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals on the right side and Liquid Glue on the left to adhere it to the card front.

I added some Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Charming Sentiments sentiment in Night of Navy on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, in Crushed Curry and Night of Navy, I stamped some leaves from the Ringed with Nature set.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Night of Navy mat and into the Crumb Cake card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more of the Ringed with Nature leaves in Night of Navy and Crushed Curry on the front…

…and more of the Rings of Love DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love how this card turned out – the Rings of Love DSP is such a perfect place to start such an organic and nature’y card with an assist from the Ringed with Nature stamp set!  Charming Sentiments is truly an amazing bundle – the Silhouette Sentiments mean you get to look like the world’s best fussy-cutter without ever picking up a pair of Paper Snips! 😎😎😎  And – a la carte sets are sure to bring fun and versatility…the Rugged Icons with its fun themed die cuts – and the Twigs & Sprigs 3D Embossing Folder & Die – are just plain cool!

I hope you like!

My main reason for getting the icon dies was the fishing pole for all the fishermen in the family/friends—but now I realize the mountain die is going to get a lot of use for the next 4 years for cards going to Colorado Springs! Thanks for the inspiration!

    • stampsnlingers

It’s a really cool die set – and the mountains will be awesome for sending to C Springs!! Thanks, Gail! Gotta ask… is it going to…USAFA!?!:)
