Stampin’ Up! Country Cottage Wreaths CAS Thank You Card

Good morning and welcome back to the work week.  And – the FIRST DAY of AUGUST!  What in the world?!?  How is it possible that the year is going so fast?  AND Sale-A-Bration?  Yep – we’re already half-way thru!  Yikes!

I saw a cool sketch at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and my brain informed me that the right way to go was with the Cottage Wreaths bundle.  So…I did!  Take a look-see:

And here’s the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

And I used the color palette from the Color Throwdown challenge this week.

I started by embossing a Crumb Cake panel in the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and then I adhered it to the front of my Crumb Cake card base with Liquid Glue.

I cut three Very Vanilla squares using the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes die.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the wreath from the Cottage Wreaths set three times in Balmy Blue.  I stamped each wreath with the twig image in Crumb Cake – and cut them all out with the coordinating die in the Country Wreaths die set.

I adhered the three die cut wreaths to the three Very Vanilla squares with Liquid Glue.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the top and bottom wreaths to the card front.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the middle wreath on.

I used the little leaves dies – there are four of them! – in Country Wreaths to cut out four Balmy Blue leaves and then adhered them to the bottom corner of the middle wreath with Liquid Glue.

I tied a simple bow with two lengths of Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Cottage Wreaths sentiment in Balmy Blue and cut it out with the smallest little banner die from Stylish Shapes.

I used double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment over the bow, added a few Very Vanilla dots from the Classic Matte Dots pack – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the Cottage Wreaths wreath in stamped-off-once Balmy Blue in the middle of a Very Vanilla panel.  I stamped the sentiment in the center in full-strength Balmy Blue – and added another Very Vanilla Classic Matte Dot.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Balmy Blue mat and into the Crumb Cake card base and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the wreath – and a sentiment! – in Balmy Blue on the front…

…and I used the little leaves stamp from Cottage Wreaths to stamp all over the envelope flap in Balmy Blue!

Et Voila!  I love the Cottage Wreath Bundle – the stamped images are gorgeous and the coordinating Country Wreaths dies make it so easy to cut them out – as well as other foliage for your projects!  And – what do you think of it in soft blues and creams!?  I sort of love it!

Finn Fan Fix

We’re now officially Ooni Pizza Oven Snobs!

Oh my goodness, y’all!  We really liked our pizzas BEFORE – in the oven in the kitchen.

They took forever, though – even at 500F!

But NOW?!?  WOW!  This Ooni Karu is….AMAZEBALLS!

The men put it together yesterday morning…

Then we did the 30 min seasoning at full temp!

I put dough on in the morning and…we fired it up for dinner!

Pizza #1 – Ready to launch!

It was so cool to watch!  I even took a video – and yes, I sound like a goofus.  But….

And the results?!?

Perfection!  Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside.  Perfect!

They were SOOO much better than the ones from the oven – I didn’t think it would be THAT much different but…it sure is!

Only one problem that I could see.

I wanted to eat ALL of BOTH pizzas.

I didn’t.

But – I WANTED to for sure!!

  1. Mary, I love the way your brain works! What a perfect card for the challenge. I’m not going to say anything about the pizzas…the photos speak for themselves. When I move to TN I do believe an OONI will be on my house warming gift list from me to me!

    • stampsnlingers

Oh yes – you will NEED one in TN! It’s pretty amazing and made us feel so PRO!!! 🙂 Thank you so much, Karen! 🙂

  2. Pretty card! Love the colors that you used on the wreaths. And a pizza oven that looks like a toolbox…awesome! Glad that it worked so well for you! But I am wondering why you were wearing the oven mitt while videoing and Wayne was doing the pizza cooking. Ha! 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

I know! I put it on when we walked out of the house and…I dunno!? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ LOL. Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  3. Susan K

Love the 3 wreaths for the sketch challenge! So creative! TFS Looks like y’all took pizza to a whole new level! Did the cart come with the oven? Hope Finny got his slices!

    • stampsnlingers

He got to lick the plate! The cart was one we had – we wanted to be able to run it all in and out of the garage! Thanks so much, Susan! 🙂

  4. Kate

Love it when a plan comes together…and looks like your pizza is proof that it did! Yum!

  5. Maryanne Willequer

Well, darn, your pizzas looked delish! Love the new oven, for sure! Where did you find the dough recipe?

    • stampsnlingers

It’s the sourdough pizza crust from King Arthur Flour! And it’s amazing! And they WERE delish!! Thanks, Maryanne! 🙂

  6. Angie Latham

Love the card! These are my favorite colors and have been for 40 years – guess I’m old and boring! LOL Then, there’s That. Pizza. Oven!!! Oh my, those pizzas look incredible! My husband and I have talked about getting one for awhile, now. I have soooo many questions. Did you research brands? Did you consider the multi-fuel version? My husband kind of wants a wood-fired oven, but I did read a bit about it being hard to keep the soot off of the pizza . . . Is yours a 16 inch? Do you use Luca and Maria’s pizza dough recipe, or??? Are those both fresh mozzarella, mushroom and artichoke pizzas, or??? Where did you get that cart – it looks pretty much perfect for that oven. And yes, I do miss Finn pics, but That. Pizza. Oven!!! Maybe tomorrow you forget about a card and just talk pizza ovens! LOL

    • stampsnlingers

It’s pretty awesome, for sure! 🙂 We bought the 12″ Karu – which is dual-fuel (we can use the gas burner that we bought seperately – or wood). After watching some youtube videos, we just installed the gas burner and went for it. The “tending of the fire” sounded like a pain. And I think the pizza tasted amazing!! 🙂 I used my Sourdough pizza crust – recipe from King Arthur’s Flour – but..with Luca and Marie’s kneading and pre-cooking-in-the-pan technique – which we’ve done since we took their class last year. Yes – we had all those things – plus turkey pepperoni, kalamata olives and a few chopped green chiles. One has Pesto sauce and the other Fresh Tomato Marinara! Cart – was in the shop and we’ve had it for year. Probably could get one at Harbor Freight! Hope that helps – BUY ONE!! You won’t regret it! 🙂
