Stampin’ Up! Paradise Palms by Gentle Waves for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

Have I even mentioned that I really love background stamps?  I buy them all.  I don’t seem to use them as often as my love for them would lead you to think I would, do I?  Hmm – I dunno why.  But I DO love them – they’re like punches for me.  Just going to have them ALL!

So…for today, I pulled out a new one – called Gentle Waves and then added some elements from the Paradise Palms Bundle (using a little inspiration from the Jan – Jun 2022 Mini Catalog samples!).  Take a look-see:

We were to pick at least 3 of the colors in our challenge palette!

I used the sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge for the layout.

And the inked background from Gentle Waves fits perfectly with the Just Us Girls challenge! 🙂

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped a larger-than-I-needed piece of Basic White cardstock with the Gentle Waves background stamp in Pool Party.  Then I trimmed it down to 3 7/8″ x 5 1/2″ and matted it on a piece of Pool Party cardstock with Liquid Glue to make the card front.  Hint: doing it this way (starting big and then trimming it down) removes the need to really work to line up the big background image onto the card panel.  Just get it close – stamp – trim.  Done!

I inked up and stamped the smaller palm trees image from the wunnermus Paradise Palms set in Pool Party and stamped it in the corner of the panel.

The I used the amazingly cool Palms Die set to cut two leaves – one in Pool Party and one in Petal Pink cardstock – then I adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut one of the geometric borders – this is another die in the Palms Dies – from a piece of Highland Heather cardstock.  Then I cut it in half and adhered the two pieces to the card front – slightly overlapping and offset – with Liquid Glue.

I used a short little strip of Stampin’ Seal to add a length of Petal Pink ribbon from the 1/8″ Cotton Ribbon pack – winding it into a loose “z”.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the sentiment from the Paradise Palms set in Highland Heather.

I used the Label Me Fancy Punch to cut out the sentiment, then I added some faux “stitches” around the label using a Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker.

I popped the label over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Some Faux Sea Glass Shapes on the sentiment label finished off the card front.  Note: even though these shapes have adhesive on them, I did ALSO use a few Glue Dots because I wanted to “stack” them a little and they needed a little extra “sticky”!

On the inside, I stamped the small palm image from Paradise Palms in Pool Party in the corner of a Basic White panel.  I added some “beach” in Pool Party and a sentiment in Highland Heather.  And..then placed a few of the Faux Sea Glass Shapes to finish it off.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pool Party mat and into my Thick Basic White cardbase, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Paradise Palms tree and beach in Pool Party on the front…

…and again on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oooooh – I do love this Gentle Waves background stamp – it really looks like rippling water, don’t you think?!?  And I’ve said before how much I love the Paradise Palms stamp set and bundled Palms Dies – and why wouldn’t I? It’s awesome and amazing and wunnermus!

I hope you like!
