Stampin’ Up! Special Moments and Daffodil Daydream for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

So – I’d been wanting to make a card that would REALLY let the Daffodil Afternoon DSP strut its stuff.  And our sketch today said mememememe!!  I added a sweet butterfly from the coordinating Daffodil Daydream Bundle and…a couple of sentiments from the Special Moments stamp set.  Take a look-see!

And – here’s our sketch.  For once, I didn’t get even sort of jiggy with the challenge! 😉

I also think this is a wonderfully feminine card, so I played along along with the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.

I started with a more neutral design in the Daffodil Afternoon DSP (this gorgeous, stunning, amazing paper is FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $50+ purchase!)…

…that I matted on Pale Papaya for the card front.  A smaller piece – swooon! – is also matted on Pale Papaya and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped a sentiment from the Special Moments stamp set (this super handy sentiment-only set is FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $100+ purchase!)…

…in Mossy Meadow on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  Then I matted it on Pale Papaya and popped it onto the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On another piece of Basic White, I stamped the little flutterby from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and cut it out with the matching die in the bundled Daffodil Dies set.

I colored the butterfly with my Dark Pale Papaya and Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.  Then I lightly curled the wings with my fingers and adhered it to the end of the sentiment with a Glue Dot.

I tied a small bow from a length of Pale Papaya 3/8″ Open Weave Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

A few Rhinestone Basic Jewels scattered about was all that was needed to finish off the card front!

On the inside, I used the scattered dots image from Daffodil Daydream and stamped it twice in the middle of a Basic White panel in stamped-off-once Pale Papaya ink.  I added a second Special Moments sentiment in Mossy Meadow – and another Daffodil Daydream butterfly in Tuxedo Black.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pale Papaya mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the smattering of stamped-off-once Pale Papaya dots and a flutterby on the front…

…and more of my favorite design from the Daffodil Afternoon DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh my goodness – I could just sit and stare at this gorgeous Daffodil Afternoon DSP, couldn’t you?  It couldn’t be any more wonderful even if it was FREE!  Oh – wait!  It IS it IS!!! Bonus!  And it coordinates so beautifully with the Daffodil Daydream Bundle from the Mini Catalog.  The Special Moments stamp set – with it’s plethora of sentiments – is for sure something you’re going to want in your tool chest.  And – yup!  FREE! Dontcha just LOVE Sale-A-Bration??

I hope you like!
