Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop! Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays! We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!
I went back to one of my very favorite suites for this one – the Whimsical Trees stamp set with the super cute bundled Christmas Trees dies and the gorgeous Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from the sketch-side of this week’s FUSION challenge.
And the Just Add Ink Just Choose Two challenge gave me some inspiration, too! I’ve got Shimmer and Foil!
And – I picked Christmas trees because…when I put up my tree – with or without ornaments (as long as all the little white lights work!!) then…it’s beginning to look like Christmas for me. Which answers the As You See It challenge question!
I started by adhering some silver-foil striped paper from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP to a piece of Evening Evergreen 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum for the card front.
Next, I took a second design from the DSP pack and cut it into two pieces – both of which are matted on the Evening Evergreen 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum. I adhered both pieces to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere a Wonderful Snowflake to the card front – right at the “gap” between the two DSP pieces.
Using the two Christmas tree dies in the….hmm…Christmas Trees Dies SET – I cut three Evening Evergreen and two Soft Succulent 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum trees.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the trees to the card front – staggering them some for a little fun!
I stamped the Whimsical Trees sentiment in Evening Evergreen on Basic White and cut it with the smallest, skinny Stitched Rectangle Die.
I popped the sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, added some Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Whimsical Trees sentiment in Evening Evergreen on a Basic White panel. Over it, I stamped one of the trees in Blushing Bride, stamping it three times without re-inking. I added another Champagne Rhinestone, too.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Evening Evergreen 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum mat and into my Blushing Bride card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got more of the trees in stamped-three-times-without-reinking Blushing Bride on the front – twice on the left and the third time on the right (it’s really faint, so it’s hard – read impossible! – to see in the picture!)…
…and more of the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Yep – the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP is…perfectly perfect! I just love it! And the Whimsical Trees stamp set has such sweet little sentiments and tree images – what’s not to love?! It’s made even more amazing by the bundled Christmas Trees die set – I mean, look at those fun little Who-ville-esque trees!! 🙂
