Stampin’ Up! Tidings & Trimmings Merry & Bright for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I decided to pull out an Annual Catalog set that, when I opened the stamp case, realized I hadn’t even removed it from the plastic backer – let alone USED it!  And – the Tidings & Trimmings stamp set with the bundled Christmas Trimmings dies is too sweet to NOT use!  Especially when you add some Tidings of Christmas 6″ x 6″ DSP.  Take a look-see:

As you can see….our theme was…Valentine’s Day!

Just seeing it you’re paying attention! 😂😂😂  Of course – THIS is our theme!

The layout is borrowed from the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.

And I played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge, too! I went across the top (Sparkle – Embossing – Any Shape Die) and down the middle (Embossing – Green/Blue – Twine).  I’m an overachiever that way! 😉

I started by adhering a piece of the Tidings of Christmas DSP to the front of a Soft Succulent cardbase (it’s the same size as the front of the card) with Liquid Glue.

I matted another strip of the DSP on Cherry Cobbler and adhered it to the card front with more Liquid Glue.  That’s the vertical panel.

Finally, I matted the smallest strip of DSP and adhered it as well.

I used the largest angled-top Tailor Made Tag die to cut a Soft Succulent tag.

I inked the Tidings & Trimmings sentiment with Versamark ink and stamped it on the bottom of the tag.  Then I sprinkled it with white embossing powder from the Basics Stampin’ Emboss Powders pack.  Using my Heat Tool, I set the embossing.  Note: the heated powder can still be smudged until it’s cool – so..be careful!

With the berries image from the Tidings & Trimmings set, I stamped around on the upper portion of the tag in Soft Succulent.  Then I used the little “reinforcer” die from the bundled Christmas Trimmings die set to cut a Cherry Cobbler reinforcer – which I adhered over the hole in the top of the tag with a little Liquid Glue.

I popped the tag onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a solid Cherry Cobbler star with the smaller star die in Christmas Trimmings.  Then I used the small detailed die to cut a rose gold detailed die cut star.  This is from the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the metallic star to the Cherry Cobbler star.

Then I popped the star onto the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used two lengths of Linen Thread to tie a simple bow, which I adhered with a little Liquid Glue.

I added some Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels (a Pool Party gem in the middle of the star and Cherry Cobbler on the card front) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the Tidings & Trimmings sentiment in Soft Succulent on a Basic White panel.  Next to it, I stamped a Cherry Cobbler bow – and added a Cherry Cobbler Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewel in the middle.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into the card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Tidings & Trimmings Cherry Cobbler bow on the front…

…and more of the Tidings of Christmas 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the combo of colors on this one – Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Cherry Cobbler!  The Tidings & Trimmings sentiment is fun with the Christmas Trimmings die cut star set atop a Tailor Made Tags tag, don’t you think?  And I really love all the pretty designs and color palette in theTidings of Christmas DSP!

I hope you like!
