Well. It’s Monday. I’m sorry. But – Monday make the weekends even sweeter, right??
Next Saturday, I’ll be going to my honorary son and daughter-in-law’s baby shower. I just gave them that honorific! 🙂 Their tiny girl human is coming in November so…we’re getting close! I realized I’d best get on the stick with a card! So…I pulled out a fun sentiment set – called One Happy Family – and the gorgeous Celebrate Sunflowers with the coordinating Sunflower Dies! Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.
And I picked the sunflower theme thanks to The Card Concept inspiration challenge. I’d call my card style “clean and layered”!
Now – before you even ask – yes, cream and pink sunflowers ARE a real thing! 🙂 Mine TOTALLY looks JUST like this, right?!? 🤔🤔🤔
I started with some Shimmery White cardstock and stamped the large flower from Celebrate Sunflowers in stamped-off-once Petal Pink. I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Soft Succulent mat.
On another piece of Shimmery White, I stamped the flower – again in stamped-off-once Petal Pink – and cut it with the matching die from the Sunflowers Dies.
I cut the detailed flower from more Shimmery White (are you starting to see a….common thread here??) and then adhered the detailed flower to the die cut flower with Liquid Glue
Then I adhered the flower to the card front with more Liquid Glue.
I stamped a couple of leaves from the Celebrate Sunflowers in stamped-off-TWICE Soft Succulent and cut them with their matching dies! I also cut the larger detailed leaf from Shimmery White and adhered it to the stamped/die cut leaf with a little Liquid Glue.
I cut the two grasses (I think these must be baby’s breath! 😉 ) from Shimmery White.
I adhered the “baby’s breath” and leaves to the die cut flower with Liquid Glue.
I tied a bow from Soft Succulent 3/8″ Open Weave Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.
On more Shimmery White, I stamped the One Happy Family sentiment in Petal Pink and cut it with a Stitched Rectangle Die. Making sure not to “trap” the bow tails, I used double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment.
I added some Champagne Rhinestone Jewels here and there and the card front was done!
For the inner liner, I stamped a Celebrate Sunflowers sentiment in Petal Pink on a Shimmery White panel. Over top I added the large leaf in stamped-off-twice Soft Succulent. Then I added a few more Champagne Rhinestone Jewels.
I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Soft Succulent mat and into my Shimmery White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Celebrate Sunflowers leaf in stamped-off-once Soft Succulent on the front…
…and some Petal Pink gingham paper from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love the soft color scheme of vanilla-Petal Pink-Soft Succulent (made even softer by stamping off!) and the “frilly” Celebrate Sunflowers, don’t you? For me – it’s a perfect baby shower card for the impending arrival of a tiny girl human – which is actually a sentiment in the One Happy Family set! I didn’t pick it – but…it might find its way into the “BABY IS HERE” card!

I recently came across an organization that does good for two populations that I care about very much – and I know you do, too. K9’s for Warriors is the nation’s largest provider of Service Dogs to military veterans suffering from post traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma. Which is awesome. But – here’s the kicker and the piece that made me sit up and take notice!!
The majority of their K9s are rescued from shelters or surrendered by their owners. In saving these animals from abandonment or euthanasia, this great organization gives them purpose. Each pair who graduates from the program represent two lives saved – the Service Dog and the Warrior.
But wait – there’s more. Dogs who do not graduate from their program qualify for a “career change” and are adopted out to loving homes or they enter the K9FW Station Dog Program – which lets them help to address and mitigate the stress factors common to the work and environment of dispatch operators, first responders, and police officers

Finn Fan Fix
On Sunday we took some windows we’d purchased back to the Lowe’s.
Finn is VERY aware that Lowe’s is pet-friendly. So…he was ready to roll.
Of course, he helped us unload the windows!
And he was making sure we didn’t forget that he NEEDED to go in!!
