Stampin’ Up! Pretty Pumpkins Joy Fold Card with Video Tutorial

Happy happy FRIDAY!  And Happy October!  And…happy World-Card-Making-Day-2021-EVE!  That’s right – tomorrow is World Card Making Day – “OUR” day!  You can see the info down below – our Inkin’ Krew has a big day planned – with video projects and prizes!  And you’re ALL invited! 🙂

Speaking of videos…we were, right?…if you were able to watch my YouTube video yesterday – I appreciate you spending part of your day with me.  If not – but you’d like to see how to make today’s card – here’s the link at YouTube!

This card is a Joy Fold – one of my faves (and a fave for a lot of you, too!) and it uses gorgeous In Good Taste DSP and the Pretty Pumpkins Bundle (ALSO one of my favorite things!).  And I’ll show you a couple of really cool inking techniques on this one, too!  Take a look-see:

The design for the front of the card was inspired by the CASology challenge this week.

And I made it as a masculine-appropriate card, too, thanks to the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.

There are two card bases on this Joy Fold (as with most of them!).  The first is the large base in Bumble Bee.  It’s a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece, scored and folded at 3″ on the long side.  I matted some In Good Taste DSP on Mossy Meadow and adhered it to the smaller panel and the large “back” panel.

The smaller card base is a 3″ x 8 3/4″ piece of Mossy Meadow – scored and folded at 4 3/8″.  I matted the In Good Taste DSP on Bumble Bee and adhered it to the “front” of the small card.  Take note: this little card opens BACKWARDS so…be sure you’re paying attention to where UP and Left/Right REALLY is! 🙂

I embossed a Very Vanilla square in the Bark 3D Embossing Folder and matted it on Bumble Bee.

Next, I cut the large detailed pumpkin from Cajun Craze cardstock using the die in the Detailed Pumpkins die set (bundled with Pretty Pumpkins).  I adhered the die cut to the Very Vanilla panel using Liquid Glue.

I tied a double-loop Linen Thread bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I stamped the Pretty Pumpkins sentiment in Mossy Meadow on Very Vanilla and cut it out with a Stitched Rectangle Die.  I popped it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I added a single small Brushed Metallic Adhesive-backed Dot to the sentiment.

For the inside, I cut two pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock.  On one, I used my Stamparatus and the marker-to-stamp coloring technique to color the various pretty leaves in the pumpkin stamp from Pretty Pumpkins.   I used: Mossy Meadow, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Cajun Craze, Bumble Bee and Soft Suede Markers.  Check the video at 18:25 if you’d like to see how to do it!

I matted the panel on Bumble Bee and added it to the inside of the small Mossy Meadow card base.

For the second Very Vanilla panel, I stamped a second Pretty Pumpkins sentiment in Mossy Meadow.   Then I used the baby wipe technique – with Re-inkers in Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody and Bumble Bee – to ink and stamp the little leaf from Pretty Pumpkins in the corners.  You can see it on the video at about the 14 minute mark.

I love BOTH these coloring techniques – and hope you’ll give them a try!

I matted that panel on Bumble Bee and then added it to the other inside panel of the small card base.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the small card into the larger card base and then to add the decorated panel to the front and the card was done!

The front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Pretty Pumpkins leaves – again using the Baby Wipe inking technique – on the front…

…and more In Good Taste DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I always feel a little fickle when I say that Pretty Pumpkins and the bundled Detailed Pumpkins dies is My Favorite Thing in the mini catalog – like I’m being unfaithful to Gorgeous Leaves and Nature’s Harvest!  So…I hereby exercise my prerogative to love them ALL equally!  Like…kids! 😉  Regardless – I think it’s pretty obvious why the Joy Fold is such a runaway favorite!  And…there I go being unfaithful to Easel Cards!  🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I hope you like!
