Good morning and happy Friday! Again! My, how the weeks do fly by! We’ve noticed that the days are getting longer – it was still light when we got in after feeding the horses last night – at about 6:45pm… Whooo-hooo!! Early sunrise and late sunset – my time of year!!
If you were able to join me for my YouTube live yesterday, I appreciate you spending part of your day with me. If not, here’s the replay!
I saw a color challenge and it made me think Spring! So – I decided to create Spring on a card. The Pretty Perennial bundle – with the wonderful Perennial Petals die set – seemed like the way to go! And then I pulled out my Buffalo Check background to get it started. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge!
And here’s that color palette – from the Sunday Stamps challenge!
Finally – my sentiment dovetails perfectly into the Just Add Ink challenge this week.
I started by stamping the Buffalo Check background onto a piece of Basic White cardstock in Daffodil Delight ink. Hint: You’ll want to use your Stamparatus for this – it makes getting a nice, clear image easy and peasy! Check out the video to see how I positioned the panel in the Stamparatus to get it just right the first time. 🙂
Then I adhered the panel onto a Mango Melody mat to create the card front.
On a smaller panel of Basic White, I used a few of the Pretty Perennials flower images – well, I guess they’re more like flower CENTERS! – to stamp an ever-so-artsy “designer series paper” – in Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody.
Then I cut the panel into three equal-sized pieces and adhered them to a Mango Melody mat – eyeballing the separation- with Liquid Glue. Tip: glue the two end pieces first to get their spacing from the edges correct – then add the third panel, “splitting” the difference between the first two.
I adhered the panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I stamped three flowers from Pretty Perennials in Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody and cut them with their matching dies in the Perennial Petals die set. I cut detailed flowers and centers in Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight cardstock and some leaves in Gray Granite.
I stacked the flowers as you can see, using Liquid Glue to adhere the pieces together.
To build the collage, I started with the leaf then built up from there, adding all the parts with Liquid Glue.
For the sentiment, I stamped both Pretty Perennial sentiments in Poppy Parade on Basic White and fussy cut them. Tip: a really good pair of scissors – like our Paper Snips – really helps here! 😉
I popped the two sentiments on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – including some tiny pieces under the “tails” in the “happy” sentiment.
I colored three Opal Rounds with my Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend and popped them into the middle of the flowers and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Pretty Perennials sentiment in Poppy Parade on a Basic White panel. Then I added more of the flower centers in Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Gray Granite card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got more Pretty Perennial flowers on the front….
…and then I used some Poppy Parade paper from the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! What a pretty Spring garden you can make with the Pretty Perennials bundle – those Perennial Petals flower dies are so much fun! And…Buffalo Check? A…”perennial” favorite!! Yep. I did that!
I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix
After everyone has breakfast in the morning and Finny has a short little after-breakfast snooze – everyone heads out to go about their business.
I usually head to the craft room to make a card or pack up customer or team gifts and the men-folk…well….
Check your six…
All clear – and…they’re off!
Finn will stay with the golf cart until time to come in for lunch.
Unless the leaf blower – the manlift – a chainsaw – the shop vac….any of those noisemakers are on the day’s plan – then he’s back to the house!
He’s such a sensitive soul…. 😉
