Stampin’ Up! Gather Together Words with Video Tutorial for The Paper Players

Hey y’all – it’s Sunday, which means I’ve got another fun challenge for you from the Paper Players – Laurie’s getting us ready for Thanksgiving with her challenge to us this week.  I know it’ll give your creative mojo a bump!  So I hope you’ll come and play along with us!

If you were able to join me yesterday for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If you weren’t able to watch the live version, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

I did a little color blocking on this one – using the pretty blocks to accent my Gather Together Fall images and sentiments from Well Said and the Word Wishes dies!  Add in a little In Good Taste DSP and…perfect Thanksgiving card!  Take a look-see:

And here’s our Paper Players badge – I hope you’ll come and play along! 🙂

And my layout was inspired by the CASE the Designer challenge from Global Design Project.

I started with some of the pretty In Good Taste DSP and stamped the wheat image from Gather Together in stamped-off-once Early Espresso all over the panel.  Then I matted it on Pumpkin Pie for the card front.

On a piece of Fluid 100 paper I stamped three blocks using my small acrylic blocks – these are “B” Blocks.  I added Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry ink to the block – spritzed it lightly with water using my Stampin’ Spritzer – and pressed the block down onto the paper and held it for a beat.

When the watercolored blocks were well and truly dry, I tore around the image to make the sentiment/art panel.

Using my sticky note masks, I added pumpkins and wheat images to the blocks in stamped-off-once Early Espresso.  Here’s a tip: once you create sticky note masks – SAVE them!  Keep them right in the stamp case – ready for your next project! 🙂

Using the single word sentiment from Well Said – I stamped it in Early Espresso on the art panel.

I adhered a piece of Early Espresso to a Foam Adhesive Sheet and then cut the Word Wishes sentiment from it.  I adhered the sentiment to the card front.  Then I used the same die to cut a bronze Brushed Metallic card stock to cut the sentiment again and adhered it to the sentiment with Liquid Glue.

I popped the art panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Next, I ran a length of 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim thru an Acorn Trinket and tied a simple bow.

Then I adhered the embellishment to the card front with a Glue Dot – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I repeated the color blocking on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  When it was dry, I added a sentiment from the Gather Together set in Early Espresso.  Next to it, I added a large pumpkin in Cajun Craze and some wheat in Crushed Curry – no masking needed!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pumpkin Pie mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more pumpkins and wheat on the front – the double pumpkins in Pumpkin Pie, the large in Cajun Craze and the wheat in Crushed Curry.  I did use my sticky note masks here…

…and I added some more of the In Good Taste DSP on the envelope flap – then stamped it with Early Espresso wheat from Gather Together!

Et Voila!  How fun is this color blocking technique?  I love it – and love that it’s different every time!  Gather Together is one of my favorite stamp sets – even without using the bundled Gathered Leaves dies.  I’m also a big fan of word dies – and the Word Wishes dies – with its coordinating Well Said set is a perfect tool to have for all sorts of wonderful sentiments!

I hope you like!
