Stampin’ Up! Curvy Butterfly Wishes for the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop

Happy Happy Hawwmp Day!!  And welcome to another edition of the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop.   I hope you’ll sit down and spend a little time with us – regardless of where YOU are in the world! 🙂  I know you’re going to see some awesome projects!

Like most hops, we have a theme each month – and this month’s is “The World Around Us”!   Which means – well….it’s pretty open-ended!  I chose to make a  project to celebrate the changing of the seasons – with falling leaves in the colors of Fall – being celebrated by some of my favorite visitors to my garden – butterflies!

To that end, I used the Butterfly Wishes stamp set with the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch.  And…you’re getting a little sneak peek at the leaves garland die in the new Curvy Dies – part of the Curvy Celebrations set that is coming to you on 3 Nov.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge this week.

I started with a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and laid the leaf garland cutting-embossing die from the new Curvy Dies (coming on 3 Nov!) across the bottom right corner.  I ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to create a semi-circle.

I stamped the sentiment from Butterfly Wishes above the die cut in Early Espresso.  Then I matted the panel on Pumpkin Pie card stock.

Using the same die, I cut more leaves from the Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green sections of a piece of Rainbow Glimmer Paper.  Using Liquid Glue for some and small pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals for others – I adhered the leaves to the card front and into the die cut negative spaces.  Some the leaves in the negative spaces are popped on with the dimensional pieces…

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the large butterfly twice in Early Espresso and the small one three times in stamped-off-once Early Espresso.  Then I colored them with my Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends.

Once they were all colored – I punched them with the Butterfly Duet punch.

Using a couple of Glue Dots, I adhered a Gold Hoop Embellishment.  Then I made a figure-8 bow with some of the 1/16″ Gold Cord from the Wonder of the Season Ribbon Combo Pack and adhered it with another Glue Dot.

I lightly curled all the flutterby wings with my fingers and adhered them here and there with Liquid Glue (except the big one perched on the hoop/bow – he took a Dimensional!).

And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped the butterflies again in Early Espresso on a Whisper White panel and colored them with the Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie Blends.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pumpkin Pie mat and into my Mango Melody card base, adhered the card front with Liquid Glue and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more butterflies on the front…

…and a piece of Granny Apple Green paper from the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP Pack!

Et Voila!  Butterfly Wishes – with the help of the Butterfly Duet Punch! – is a wonderful way to make gorgeous winged visitors for any of your projects!

I hope you like!
