Stampin’ Up! Forever Greenery for the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop

Happy Happy Hawwmp Day!!  And welcome to another edition of the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop.   I hope you’ll sit down and spend a little time with us – regardless of where YOU are in the world! 🙂  I know you’re going to see some awesome projects!

Like most hops, we have a theme each month – and this month’s is “CAS(E) A TeamMate”!  Our fearless leader drew names from a hat and I was tickled to find myself CASEing Elaine De Montmorency!  Yeah!  I started browsing thru her blog and came upon a card I loved right away.  Well – there were a TON that I loved  – Elaine makes gorgeous cards – and a lot of cool fun-folds (I DO hope you’ll check out her blog!) but this one said “MAKE ME”!  So…I pulled out my Forever Fern stamp set and D Acrylic Block and…take a look-see!

…and here’s the card of Elaine’s that I CASE’d!

Now – to be honest, I used a different technique than the one Elaine used – I did a color-blocking technique that I learned from Sue Prather at one of our Krew team meetings.  Sue got it from Heidi Collins, so….TOTALLY not my creation even kinda sorta!

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Using a D-sized acrylic block (the same kind you put your cling and photopolymer stamps on) – I added Pretty Peacock, Pear Pizzazz and Shaded Spruce ink directly to the block by tapping the block with the actual ink pad.

Keeping the block flat – I gave it a quick spritz with water using my Stampin’ Spritzer.  Then I pressed the block to the Whisper White panel.  When I lifted it up – I had my background!

FYI – every time you do this – it’s going to look a little different!   Which is pretty cool, huh?

Once the card was dry, I used Pretty Peacock ink to add a Forever Fern sentiment under the square.

I stamped leaves and splatters – from Forever Fern – in Pretty Peacock here and there around the inked square.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Pear Pizzazz mat and the card front was done.  🙂

On the inside, I added more Forever Fern leaves and splatters in Pretty Peacock to a Whisper White panel.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Pear Pizzazz mat and into my Pretty Peacock card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Forever Ferns leaves and splatters on the front in Pretty Peacock…

…and again on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – I admit I was a little afeared of this technique – it’s a little artsy and uncontrolled feeling – for me, at least.  But…that’s it’s beauty!  You’ll get a different look every time – even if you used the same color scheme.  It’s all in the amount of ink and water you use!  Regardless – I LOVE the Forever Fern leaves, don’t you?!?  So detailed and gorgeous.  And I think it’s perfect for this silhouette technique.  I hope you like!

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below along with the card cuts!

Now that you’ve seen my card, take a minute to hop thru all our projects today.  As I said earlier – we’ve got folks from across the globe…
