Stampin’ Up! Ornate Thanks in Style for the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop

Happy Happy Hawwmp Day!!  And welcome to another edition of the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop.  All our blogs go live at the exact same time – regardless of where in the WORLD the hopper is located!   I hope you’ll sit down and spend a little time with us – regardless of where YOU are in the world! 🙂  I know you’re going to see some awesome projects!

Each month we’ll have a theme for the hop – this month’s theme is All Things Crafty – Favorite Coloring Tools!  Favorite coloring tools…hmmm.  Well – my FAVORITE coloring tool is, actually, our wunnermus Designer Series Paper!  The colors are so amazing and perfectly coordinated for us – so they can be left to shine shine shine on a project!  And – once I’ve selected some wonderful paper – like the Ornate Garden Specialty DSP on today’s card – I tend to gravitate to my Stampin’ Blends.  Which I used today to color my Ornate Style flower.  When I added a sentiment from Ornate Thanks, well…take a look-see!

The layout was inspired by Kerstin Kreis’ card in this week’s Global Design Project‘s Case the Designer challenge.

I started by double-matting a piece of the gorgeous Ornate Garden Specialty DSP on Terracotta Tile and Early Espresso to make the card front.

Using the Magnolia Memories Die set, I cut two large and two small leaves from Mossy Meadow card stock.  I adhered the leaves to Pear Pizzazz and to Old Olive card stock and then fussy cut the leaves.

I adhered the leaves to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Next, I tied a large-ish bow from the Old Olive ribbon in the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the adorable daisy from Ornate Style in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I colored the leaf with my Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Combo.  I colored the flower with my Daffodil Delight Combo – then added some Mango Melody (with the Dark Stampin’ Blend) on the petals around the center of the flower.  The center itself is colored with the Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend.

Then I cut the image with an oval Stitched Shape Die and popped it over the leaves and bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Ornate Thanks sentiment in Terracotta Tile on Whisper White, then used a small Stitched So Sweetly die to cut it out – running it half-way thru the die cutting machine twice and moving the die to create a cut that’s long enough for the sentiment.  I used a Dimensional and some Liquid Glue to adhere the sentiment to the card front.

Finally I added a single Gilded Gem to the oval and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment in Terracotta Tile and a third in Old Olive onto a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the little daisy again in Tuxedo Black and colored it the same as the front of the card.  A Gilded Gem finished it off.

I used Liquid Glue to double mat the panel on Terracotta Tile and Early Espresso, then into my Terracotta Tile card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the Ornate Style daisy on the front…

…and more Ornate Garden Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Ornate Garden Specialty DSP brings so much color and movement to this card, don’t you think?!  And it’s perfectly complemented by the Ornate Style flower – colored with my Stampin’ Blends – and the wonderful and versatile sentiments in the Ornate Thanks set.   I hope you like!
