Stampin’ Up! No Matter the Weather March Paper Pumpkin Revealed!

Hey y’all – my March No Matter The Weather Paper Pumpkin kit got here the other day and I’d been hearing from folks that it’s an awesome kit!  So…I got into it yesterday!

As promised, this kit has an additional stamp set and the images coordinate perfectly with the “main” No Matter The Weather Paper Pumpkin stamp set!  It didn’t take me very long at all to have 12 cards (with envelopes) all ready to spread a little spring cheer and encouragement!

I love that you get TWO stamp sets – and they coordinate perfectly!

The No Matter The Weather set is the one I used mostly to make the kit per the instructions…

And the FREE extra set I used to create insides and envelope fronts (the envelopes came lined!)

So…I put the kit together exactly as directed (I’m a rule follower, what can I say!??).

In addition to the Basic Gray Ink Spot and stamp sets, there’s all the die cut images and sentiment banners/circles you’ll need.  Plus some super cute acrylic “raindrops” to add to the card fronts!

For each card, I completed the front – then did some stamping on the inside and envelope front.

This first design has a cloudy sky with bright rain boots stuffed with Spring flowers.  Those are die cuts from the kit.  Then on the inside, I stamped the flower basket in Basic Gray and added Grapefruit Grove flowers.

The envelope is lined with Shaded Spruce and I added more flowers on the front!

The second design features a line of fun rain boots – all popped up with dimensionals and embellished with wrapped Baker’s Twine in white-and-green!  I added some rain boots from the extra set – the outline image in Basic Gray and the flower-dy-fill in So Saffron.  So they weren’t just “floating” in mid-air, I added the “ground” image from the Whatever The Weather set in Basic Gray.

I repeated the boots on the front of the Petal Pink-lined envelope, too.

The final design features more rain boots stuffed with flowers – these are die cuts, popped up with Dimensionals – and an adorable bunny!  For the inside, in Pear Pizzazz, I added grasses (this might be my favorite grass image EVER!) and then a Basic Gray bunny.  These are both from the free extra set!  The little hearts – stamped in Petal Pink – are from the No Matter The Weather set.

I added more grass, bunny and hearts on the front of the So-Saffron lined envelope to complete the set.

If you enjoy a quick video how-to, then here’s one that’s just right!

If you’ve got this set – go ahead and put it together.  And  – if you want a refill of these cute cards and die cuts…here it is in the Online Store!

Next month’s kit is looking to be equally cool!

My Wonderful Family – is all about building and nurturing relationships through papercrafting.  For April, we created a fun, family appreciation themed card kit that will make it easy for you to share your heart with those you love the most: mom, dad, daughter, son, sister, and brother.  April’s kit even includes Mother’s Day and Father’s Day sentiments, giving you the perfect way to show your appreciation for beloved parents on their special days with a beautiful, handmade card.

Finn Fan Fix

All of Finn’s hard work in the garden is starting to pay off!

We planted this past weekend – braving drifts of pine pollen in the pursuit of….peppers!!

In years past, I’ve bought tomatoes and my most-wunnermus Ancho Magnifico Chiles as plants.  And while they worked great – they were SPENDY!  The plants themselves weren’t too bad – but SHIPPING live plants….Yikes!!

So…this year, I bought seeds and the equipment I needed to start them indoors and parlayed this…

into…

and then….

Okay – I bought those lettuce (buttercrunch) starts at the hardware last week.  Instant gratification, yes.  But those tomatoes and marigolds (mighty pest fighters!!) and TWELVE CHILE PEPPER plants!! – are all seed started in the kitchen!

We also planted spinach, turnips, mustard, and collard seeds…

And we’re building two more raised beds for the tomatillos, pole beans, yellow squash and spaghetti squash.  I hope I can make the squash work – I’ve had problems with it in the past.  Maybe THIS is the year!!

I’m sure with the help of my green-pawed-pooch, we can’t go wrong!

  1. I love this kit so much and have many plans for it. I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting a refill! What a great green thumb you have, especially with the anchos! So we have lost most of our plants to pests. I’ll have to read up on the benefits of marigolds. White flies love our tomatoes and black sooty mold loves our basil. About the only things we can grow without problems are rosemary and oregano, sometimes thyme. Chester is about as helpful as Finn 🙂

Do – they’re good for the peppers and tomatoes, for sure! Refills are available so…better get one quick! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  2. That kit is so awesome! Love the projects and designs and the extra stamp set is fantastic! I am sure that all of Finn’s supervising will make the garden a huge success. A busy guy needs to rest his eyes now and then and gardening definitely wears a guy out. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – he works hard at it and doens’t even LIKE spinach or peppers or tomatoes. How selfless is that!?!? Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  3. Faith Simpson

    Hi Mary,
I’m so impressed with your garden…..and such a blessing it will be IF produce (and other items) continue to be hard to find….anywhere!! I was out at 7 a.m. today and not a banana in the store!!….nor many other things…..have you thought about keeping chickens?? Finn might think they are for his pleasure…..but at least you would have eggs……..eggs are hard to find right now too……
This Paper Pumpkin is so appropriate….”We’re in this together”.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks – I’m always so tickled when the garden “goes in”. I’m less happy while fighting horn worms and other bugs – but in the first days when it’s all tidy and pretty…I’m very happy! I would do chickens but…goodness they’re a lot of work. And since I’d name them all I’d be devastated when one got sick or a hawk got them… 😉 So…no chickens for me! And yes – this really WAS a timely PP kit, wasn’t it!?! Thanks, Faith! 🙂
