Stampin’ Up! Rise and Shine Sneak Peek

Well – it’s Monday again!  Hope you had an awesome weekend!  We had some beautiful weather here for a minute – as I type this on Sunday night, we’re waiting for that to come to an end tomorrow.  A little more rain is headed our way.

Bleh.  Wish I could send it where it’s needed, cuz we’re full up!

Tomorrow is the arrival of the Sale-A-Bration Second Release and…my card today uses a fun little set that you’ll be able to pick up FREE with a $100 purchase (before shipping and tax)!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

And the color palette is from the Color Throwdown challenge.

I started with a Whisper White panel to which I added a sentiment from the Rise & Shine set in Bermuda Bay ink.  Then I adhered the panel to a Bermuda Bay mat to create the card front.

I cut a Crumb Cake rectangle and embossed it in the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder, then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a 2″ wide strip of Whisper White, I stamped the coffee “steam” image all over in Crumb Cake ink.  Then, using the small flower image, I stamped it onto the steam (making them into little flowers instead of steam!) by stamping it in Melon Mambo – some in full-strength and some stamped off once.  I added little leaves here and there and everywhere in stamped-off-once Bermuda Bay.

Then I punched the end of the strip with my Banner Triple Punch and adhered it to the corrugated panel with Liquid Glue.

The Rise & Shine set is one of the fun reversible stamp sets that Stampin’ Up! has introduced recently.  On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the right-hand cup with the circle cut-out in stamped-off-once Crumb Cake.  Then I stamped the sunburst in full strength Crumb Cake and a sentiment in Melon Mambo.

The second cup is a solid left-hand image – stamped in stamped-off-once Melon Mambo on Whisper White.

Do y’all remember the Cup of Cheer Dies from the 2019 Holiday Catalog?

These are carrying over – which means you can find them in the Online Store – even though they’re not in the catalog right now.  I used the cup dies to cut my two images.  Then I used the detailed stripes die to cut a Melon Mambo piece.  That piece I adhered to the front of my die cut pink cup with Liquid Glue.

I adhered the two cups to the card front – with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final piece is a stamped-off-once Bermuda Bay tag from Rise & Shine, cut with the die in the Cup of Cheer set.  I adhered it with Liquid Glue and a Mini Dimensional.  I tied a tiny bow from Linen Thread and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.

I added some small Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the middles of the flowers and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped two more sentiments from Rise & Shine in Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo on a Whisper White panel.  Then I added the steam in Crumb Cake.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Bermuda Bay mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another steam flower on the front…

…and a little Bermuda Bay checked paper from the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How fun is this Rise & Shine stamp set?  With it’s multiple cup images – flowers – sentiments – it’s got more options than a Starbucks!

AND – it’s got DIES to match – available right this very minute in my Online Store.  But – wait until TOMORROW – then get them and make sure you earn this Rise & Shine set.  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

So – yesterday morning, I was about 20 minutes into my treadmill workout.

Finn – as usual – was sleeping by the back door.  It was just starting to get light.

As I trudged along watching my tv show on my phone on the treadmill….

All of a sudden, he goes full Rottweiller.

BARK BARK GROWL BARKBARKBARKBARKBARDGGGGGGGGGRRRRRR….

I holler “Finny – leave it”

BARK BARK GROWL BARKBARKBARKBARKBARDGGGGGGGGGRRRRRR….

I mean – serious.  We’re talking perimeter dog with three masked gunman headed his way.

Carrying a cat! Who is armed with a Laaaaazerrrrrr…..

BARKBARKBARKBARKBARDGGGGGGGGGRRRRRR….

Deciding I’d best check – just in case there WAS a bear on the back steps….or…a cat…I jumped off the treadmill and hurried to the kitchen – note: my treadmill decides after 30 seconds of no weight-on-the-belt that you finished and just left without shutting it down.  Or you’re dead in a heap at the end of the belt…And it quits.  So – I wanted to ascertain the threat-level and get back within the allotted time.

As I got to the door – I see him bouncing up and down….

BARKBOUNCEBARKBOUNCE – MOMDOYOUSEEIT?!? – BARKBOUNCEBARKBOUNCE – MOMIT’SREALLYREALLYREALANDREALLYREALLYBAAAADDD – BARKBOUNCEBARKBOUNCE

Apparently – it was an invasion of….

Image result for two canadian geese taking off of pond images

No.  This is not my picture.  Or our pond.  Or the offending geese. Treadmill.  Hurrying.  No phone!

I told him what a good guard dog he is (thinking – like that kid that cried wolf, yes – THAT good!) and raced back to the treadmill just in the nick of time.

When I finished up and trudged into the kitchen (there’s a lot of trudging around here in the mornings!) I found…

Defending the home and family from the Goose-apocalypse (real OR imagined!) is exhausting. 😉

  1. Bwahahaha…what a story…what a finish! Cool guard dog and cool card. Now I’m off to get a real cup of coffee. Have a great day.

    • stampsnlingers

Glad you had a chuckle, Karen! Hope that coffee was yummy!! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  2. What a cute card! Love the colors and your design is perfect! Poor Finn…you clearly failed to see just how bad the goose-apocalypse really could be! And it is exhausting being on guard duty, especially not knowing when another goose attack might be looming! 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Geese are sneaky. Not very stealthy – the talk a LOT! – but certainly sneaky. Gotta watch them ALL the time. First there’s two…then 8…then…APOCALYPSE!!! Arrrrrggghhh!! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  3. Finn is a REALLYREALLYGOODGUARDDOG! Those terrible terrible geese. Saw several hundred of them over the weekend. Feels like spring, and we could use your moisture.
Your card is a good one. Love the way you made your background paper with the ‘steam and flowers’. Great creativity. I don’t have this set, and probably won’t get it. I know, why not? Being a coffee lover, you would think it a ‘must have’. I don’t know, it just doesn’t turn me on. So. But I probably will CASE your idea for the paper. Thanks for sharing, both the doggie news and the card.

I wish we could send you some. Rain all week and our ponds are already full! Thanks very much and YESHEISANAWESOMEGUARDDOG!! 😉

  4. Connie Kissel

Love your card Mary. I was wavering on this set but not anymore! As for Finn, well he’s my kinda dog. Treadmill not withstanding 😂

    • stampsnlingers

LOL!! Yea – I could not-withstand the stupid treadmill, too. Love-hate relationship with it, for sure! Thanks so much, Connie! 🙂
