Stampin’ Up! Holly Jolly Brick & Mortar Christmas

Happy Happy FRI-AWWWMP Day!

I know you know what I was doing there.

I hope this really IS your last work day of the week.

I also hope that you took your turkey out of the freezer!  I took ours out on Monday.  Which…might have been okay (I was THINKING it was okay!) if it was a 12-13 pound turkey.  This is a 21-pounder, so…it’s now languishing in water in a bucket in the fridge in the barn.  We’ll see. Fingers crossed!

My card today is a jump forward to Christmas – cuz…it’s like tomorrow!!  And it’s super easy and let’s the Night Before Christmas DSP really do all the work – with an assist from the Suite’s Memories & More Card Pack and the Holly Jolly Christmas stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Sunday Stamps sketch challenge.

And the theme falls right into the photo inspiration from Hand Stamped Sentiments.

I started with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder – and I swiped my Whisper White Craft Pad over the DE-bossing side of the folder.  Then I carefully stuck my Cherry Cobbler panel into the folder and ran it thru my die cutting machine with the 3D Embossing Folder Plate.

Once it was embossed – and lightly accented with white – I used the Craft Pad again to swipe lightly across the raised portions of the embossed panel.

I picked three fun designs from the Night Before Christmas DSP and cut three circles with the Stitched Shapes Dies.  I cut scalloped-edge circles of Gold Glimmer with the Circles Layering Framelits.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the DSP circles to their Gold Glimmer mats.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the largest circle to the Brick-embossed panel.  Then I popped the other two circles on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I pulled out my Night Before Christmas Memories & More Card Pack and selected a sentiment sticker in Pretty Peacock.  I used my Embossing Buddy to “dull” the stick ’em on the back of the sticker and then popped it onto the card front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a few gold stars from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a sentiment from Holly Jolly Christmas in Pretty Peacock to a Whisper White panel.  Next to it is a couple of candy cane stickers from the Night Before Christmas Memories & More Card Pack.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Gold Glimmer Paper mat and into my Pretty Peacock card base.  For the front, I added a Gold Glimmer panel at an angle with Liquid Glue, then popped the card front over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Night Before Christmas Memories & More Card Pack candy canes on the front…

…and then I continued the candy cane theme with some more of the Night Before Christmas DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  The Night Before Christmas Suite is so….perfect!  I love the paper and the Memories & More card pack goodies – and the Holly Jolly Christmas stamp set and matching Jolly Christmas Dies.  It’s such fun and chock-a-block full of Santa-y Christmas goodness!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

We’re in tempt-the-old-cat-to-make-her-eat mode these days.  She’s apparently got some kidney function loss and that appears to affect appetite.  So…we’re on a quest.  Not only will we give her appetite stimulating meds – and antacid.  Via a shot.  Huh?  But that’s what the vet told us.  So…that’s what we’ll do.

In the meantime, I hit the grocery each day to get a selection of tempting morsels for the princess.

Just so you know – this is NOT the most cost-effective way to feed a cat.  Especially given that the super-special-I-love-them-so-much-give-me-MOREMOREMORE treats of Saturday become the you’ve-got-to-be-kidding-why-would-you-try-to-make-me-eat-THAT treats on Sunday.  🙁

But – on Tuesday, I found a secret for the time being.  It needs a date/time stamp of her approval, but…right this second…beef baby food mixed with Fancy Feast Grilled with Gravy seems to be hitting the spot for her!

This is a clean bowl for this little cat!

Finn is…less than thrilled by the super-special-I-know-it’s-the-bestest-food-ever-on-any-planet-anywhere-and-why-can’t-I-have-it that SHE gets and HE doesn’t.

See him out there?  He raced from one door to the other several times in an effort to get my attention to let me know he NEEDED to come in RIGHT NOW!!

Poor pitiful little 85-pound dog…he never gets anything good to eat…

Oh my…..you-all need to take out stock in a pet food store….!! I’ve been there too. My kitty ended up that he could only have rabbit to eat…..(allergic to other things)…..so I found a grocery that would order fresh rabbit for me….I cooked it, minced it, bagged portions with broth and froze them. Thank goodness he LIKED the rabbit…..but hated that he didn’t ever get tuna . I even stopped using it myself so he wouldn’t beg for some. We’ll do almost anything for our fur-babies……right?
    HaPPY THanksGIving to you!!

    • stampsnlingers

Wow – you DID go to great lengths! Rabbit?! Yikes – not easy to come by. Good for you taking such good care of your little person! And even not eating tuna yourself. 🙂 Thank you so much, Faith – Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! 🙂

  4. Love how you used the dsp and the gold glimmer paper to create such a festive Christmas card. So glad your were inspired by our challenge. I too have a buffet of food for my kitty who has lymphoma and wasn’t eating. Thanks to treatments and exotic alligator food he’s doing better. I pray your kitty eats and gets better. Thanks for playing at Hand Stamped Sentiments.
