Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Wrapped in Plaid Pine Tree

Hey y’all – happy Hawwmp Day!

Wow – yesterday turned out WAY differently than I’d anticipated!  My PLAN was to get a couple of cards done and get the house picked up a bit.  I have a friend from my “old life” coming over this afternoon and I want to do some ribs and show her the place and maybe make a quick card with her.  And I wanted to do it in a clean house!

Instead…I spent the day with a friend at the hospital.  This past weekend, her dad had an appendectomy – not quite emergent, but….close! – at the age of almost 90!  So I went to the hospital today to help navigate and interpret and generally be the squeaky wheel.

I’m a pretty good squeaky wheel at the hospital – I know the lingo and the way things work.  So it was an easy thing to offer and do.  But – like all things associated with hospitals – it took….all…..day.

When I finally got home after 6 – with no card for today, no blog post for today, and – most critically – no dry-rubbed ribs, and no tidied up house!….well – I had to decide what to do.

And…I made a card! LOL!  THAT was easy and fun, so…I took the path I was going to LIKE!  And since I’d been plotting the card in my head all day, it came together quickly with the wunnermus Perfectly Plaid bundle and Wrapped In Plaid DSP!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s Global Design Project challenge.

I started with some pretty Wrapped in Plaid DSP and matted it on Cherry Cobbler for the card front.

Next, I wrapped some Linen Thread around the panel, securing it in the back with a couple of Glue Dots.

I embossed a small piece of Crumb Cake card stock in the Winter Knit 3D Embossing Folder, matted it on Cherry Cobbler and popped it over the Linen Thread with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

With the Pine Tree Punch (bundled with the Perfectly Plaid stamp set!), I punched a different Wrapped in Plaid DSP design and popped the tree on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a strip of Crumb Cake, I stamped the Perfectly Plaid sentiment in Cherry Cobbler.  Then I added faux stitches with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker and popped it onto the art panel with more Dimensionals.

I added a gold star from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley to the top of the tree and the sentiment – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Perfectly Plaid sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on a Whisper White panel, then used my Stamparatus to stamp the plaid tree in Shaded Spruce.  The tree also got another of the Most Wonderful Time gold stars!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another of the Shaded Spruce plaid trees on the front…

…and more of the Wrapped in Plaid DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is absolutely, positively one of my fave things in the Holiday catalog!  Perfectly Plaid is…well…PERFECT!  Especially when you add in the bundled Pine Tree Punch.  AND – if you pair it up with the awesome, wunnermus and amazingly beautiful Wrapped in Plaid DSP – well – you get Perfectly Piney Plaid Perfection!  I hope you like!
