Stampin’ Up! Let it Snow, Man Season for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

Now – by rights this should be a Halloween card today, but the color scheme just….isn’t right for a Halloween card.  So…I made a Christmas card, cuz the challenge IS perfect for the Snowman Season and Let It Snow Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

Just in case the color challenge scheme isn’t totally obvious….

And I decided it would be fun to play along with the TGIF Challenge.

I started with a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock that I embossed in the Winter Knit 3D Embossing Folder and matted on Real Red for the card front.

For the tags, I made two with coordinating papers in the Let It Snow Specialty DSP.  I cut two strips and punched the top with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch and the bottom with the Banner Triple Punch.

I used my Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Write Marker to add faux stitches and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the art/sentiment, I started with a piece of Whisper White – punched as with the other two tags.  I added the cute snowman from the Snowman Season in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and the sentiment in Shaded Spruce.

I used my Blender Pen to lightly color the image with ink that I picked up from the lid of my Coastal Cabana Ink Pad.  And I used my Coastal Cabana and Real Red Markers to color his scarf and hat.  I cheated on the color challenge a little bit and colored his nose with Pumpkin Pie using a Stampin’ Write Marker.

I added the faux stitches and popped the tag on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

With Liquid Glue, I adhered some little “snowballs” from the Let It Snow Embellishment Kit and some Snowflake Sequins.  Since I had the Embellishment Kit out, I added a couple of pieces of “coal” as his buttons.

I tied a bow from Real Red 1/8″ Curly Ribbon, adhered it with a Glue Dot, and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Snowman Season in Shaded Spruce.  Over top I added some snowflakes in stamped-off-once Coastal Cabana.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Real Red mat and into my Coastal Cabana card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Coastal Cabana snowflakes on the front – I stamped the image twice without re-inking to get two-tones of blue…

…and a little more of the Let It Snow Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love this color combination and it works so perfectly with the Snowman Season stamp set and all the pieces and parts of the Let It Snow Suite!  I hope you like!
