Stampin’ Up! Wrapped in Plaid Pine Boughs for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a Holiday-ready color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I went right down the middle of this one – I saw the colors and pulled out my Wrapped in Plaid DSP – then the coordinating Perfectly Plaid bundle.  Take a look-see:

Gosh – can you guess what the color challenge was? 😉

And I pulled the layout from the Mojo Monday challenge!

I started with a piece of Shaded Spruce for the card front.  On a second piece, I stamped the plaid tree from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set several times in Shaded Spruce ink and punched them all out with the bundled Pine Tree Punch.

I adhered the punched out trees to the Shaded Spruce panel with Liquid Glue – using a paper trimmer to trim the excess from the sides.  I adhered the panel to a Gold Foil mat to create the card front.

I selected two coordinating designs from the Wrapped in Plaid DSP and cut them out with two circle Stitched Shapes dies.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the Perfectly Plaid sentiment in Shaded Spruce.  Over the top, in stamped-off-once Cherry Cobbler, I added the plaid pine tree.  Then I cut it out with the middle-sized Stitched Shapes Die.

I adhered the largest plaid circle to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then, with a strip of SNAIL, I laid down a length of Shaded Spruce/Gold 3/8″ Striped Ribbon, also adhering it on the back with Glue Dots.

I added the smallest Plaid Circle with Liquid Glue, then popped the sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

With my Beautiful Boughs Die set, I cut out a Shaded Spruce pine bough.  I cut some Gold Foil berries with my fave die in the Frosted Bouquet Die set.  Then I used a little Liquid Glue to adhere them next to the sentiment.  Over the top, with a Glue Dot,  I adhered a bow from the Shaded Spruce/Gold 3/8″ Striped Ribbon.  I used my Bow Easy to make this pretty bow!

I added a gold faceted star from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley and some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots from the Christmastime is Here Suite (available to customers on 1 Nov!) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Perfectly Plaid sentiment in Shaded Spruce on a Whisper White panel, with a stamped-off-once Cherry Cobbler tree over the top.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Gold Foil mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a full-strength Cherry Cobbler Perfectly Plaid tree on the front…

…and a little more Wrapped in Plaid DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Folks – it doesn’t get much more traditionally-Christmas than this color scheme – with plaid and gold to bring it all home!  And the Perfectly Plaid stamp set – with the matching/bundled Pine Tree Punch is pretty perfect.  Especially when you add in some “greenery” (or “goldery!”) from Beautiful Boughs and Frosted Bouquet!  I hope you like!
