Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! Today’s Hop is a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop!
When I saw the color challenge, I immediately thought “Come Sail Away Suite”. I mean – serious. But then I thought – come on, Mare – let’s get outside the DSP pack. So…I looked arround and decided to go with the new Feels Like Frost suite – coming SOON in the 2019 Holiday Catalog! Take a look-see at what I came up with!
And…the color challenge (yea – I KNOW that you already know, but…it’s habit!).
I also borrowed a little inspiration for the layout from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock and made a little “DSP”. I used the small flower image from Frosted Foliage and stamped it all over in stamped-off-once Balmy Blue. Then I matted it on Soft Suede for the card front.
The next panel is more Whisper White, covered in stamped-off-once Night of Navy with the same flower image. It’s also matted on Soft Suede and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.
Finally – I cut a small piece of the Feels Like Frost 6″ x 6″ Specialty DSP, matted it on Soft Suede and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
I stamped the sentiment from Frosted Foliage in Soft Suede on Balmy Blue. Then I used the frame die in the Frosted Frames Dies (bundled with the Frosted Foliage stamp set for a 10% savings!) to cut it out. That frame is a lot bigger than I needed – so I cut it half way – moved the die to shorten it up and cut it from the other direction to make the smaller label.
While I had the die set out, I cut some leaves and flowers in Balmy Blue and Night of Navy.
I created the collage – starting with the leaves – using Liquid Glue. Then I adhered a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and some Whisper White 5/8″ Flax Ribbon. I popped the sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and finished it with a Linen Thread Double-Loop bow, adhered with a Glue Dot.
Finally – I added a few Night of Navy jewels from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels (in the 2019 Holiday Catalog!) and the card front was done!
On the inside, I used Balmy Blue and Night of Navy ink to stamp the flower from the front on a Whisper White panel. I used stamped-off-once ink for all of them.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Soft Suede mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Frosted Foliage flowers on the front…
…amd a little more of the Feels Like Frost 6″ x 6″ Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love this gorgeous Suite – anchored (see what I did there? Just think about it a minute – it’ll come to you…) by the spectacular Feels Like Frost 6″ x 6″ Specialty DSP and finished up with the Frosted Foliage bundle!! I hope you like!
