Stampin’ Up! Winds of Change for a Friend

Happy Sunday, my peeps!  I hope your weekend is going well.  And I hope that MY weekend has been productive.  My list is long – and the little check boxes…too empty, I fear!  But – Wednesday is coming and it will be what it will be, right?  Regardless of what is – or is NOT – done, we’ll be leaving on a jet plane.

Hopefully one with four engines.

Just sayin’! 🙂

If you were able to join me last night for my Live Facebook video, I appreciate you spending part of YOUR weekend with me.  And this is where I’d usually say – “If not – but you’d like to see how I made today’s card – then…here’s the almost-Memorex version on my YouTube channel.”  But THIS week, apparently my video stopped recording about 1 minute in.  Not entirely sure why but…it’s gone! 🙁

So – we’ll have to do this old-school! 🙂

I played with a lovely new set called Winds of Change – and used a sort-of-Double-Time technique.  Take a look-see:

Pretty image – makes ya want to click your clogs.

Or have some Anderson Pea Soup….

Not everyone’s gonna get than one! 😉

The layout for this one comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

And the color pallete is from the Inspire. Create.  Challenge.

I started with a card-front-sized piece of Whisper White card stock and, using my Stamparatus, stamped the image from the new Winds of Change stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I laid a smaller strip over the top and stamped the image again.

And then…I…let…it…dry.

For a good loooooong time! 🙂

Once it was good and dry, I used Stampin’ Blends in Purple Posy, Rococo Rose and Pretty Peacock to color the flowers – making sure to get the flowers on the larger panel fully colored (where they’d be visible!), too.  I used my Seaside Spray Stampin’ Write Marker to highlight portions of the windmill.

I used my Stamparatus – and the acetate from the now-retired Stamp-A-Ma-Jig – to add the sentiment from Winds of Change in Terracotta Tile ink.  Then I matted both panels on Seaside Spray card stock.

I popped the narrow strip onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals – making sure to align the image!  Then I added a few 2019-2021 In Color Faceted Dots and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added another floral image from Winds of Change in Tuxedo Black and colored it with my Rococo Rose and Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends.  Then I added another little Terracotta Tile dot.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Seaside Spray mat and into my Terracotta Tile card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a repeat of the sweet spray of tulips on the front…

…and I added some Terracotta Tile paper (with scripty writing on it!) from the 2019-2020 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This wonderful new Winds of Change hits all the right notes – gorgeous flowers – beautiful sentiments in lovely fonts!  Stampin’ Up! really hit it out of the park (the TULIP park)!  I hope you like!
