Morning, all! Happy weekend! Are you all on your way to see Avengers Endgame? I am NOT – not cuz I don’t want to (I most desperately DO!) – but because there’s barely a ticket to be had! One of the guys went to the special early release showing on Thursday night – and he gave it two thumbs up. I’m really hoping to go next weekend!
One little admin note before we get to the card – I will NOT be doing my FB Live tonight! I have a previous engagement and won’t be around. So…we’ll get together TOMORROW night – Sunday, at 7 pm Eastern. Okey dokey? Hopefully the hotel internet will cooperate. If not – take heart…in theory I’ll be home in a couple of weeks and we won’t have to worry about sharing bandwidth with everyone ELSE trying to stream their videos!
Okay – let’s get it, shall we? My card today is yet another Sneak Peek (I can’t help it very much – all these new goodies are just sitting there BEGGING to be played with! Who am I to deny them??). This one uses the so-pretty Bird Ballad suite (coming on 4 June) – take a look-see:
This layout is courtesy of this week’s Global Design Project sketch challenge.
And – as a little reminder, here’s the Bird Ballad Suite…
I started with some of the beautiful flower-and-bird strewn paper from the Bird Ballad DSP (available on 4 June) and matted it on Daffodil Delight for the card front. I wrapped some Petal Pink 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon (from the coming-soon Perennial Essence Suite) around the panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.
Next up, using my Stamparatus, I stamped the Free As A Bird sentiment in Tuxedo Black on a Whisper White square. Above it, I added the bird-on-a-branch image, also in Tuxedo Black.
I matted the square on Daffodil Delight and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On a seperate piece of Whisper White, I stamped the bird-and-branch image again in Tuxedo Black. Using my Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink, Crumb Cake, and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends, I colored the image. Then I fussy cut it. 🙂
I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (it’s me – so…I used a bunch!) and popped the colored birds over top of the black-and-white image.
I tied a bow from the Petal Pink 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Free As A Bird sentiment in Tuxedo Black on Whisper White. Then I added some flowers and leaves in Tuxedo Black sort of scattered all over. I stamped the images a couple of times without re-inking. Then I used my Light and Dark Petal Pink Blends to color the flowers.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into my Petal Pink card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Free As A Bird flowers and leaves on the front…
…and I added more of the pretty Bird Ballad DSP to the envelope flap.
Et Voila! This whole gorgeous Bird Ballad suite just screams SPRING, doesn’t it? The images and beautiful sentiments in the Free As A Bird stamp set coordinate perfectly with the Bird Ballad DSP. And – watch for those uber-cool Stitched Nested Labels dies! Go ahead – just add this one to your wish list! You know you’re going to get it! Hope you like!
