Stampin’ Up! Painted Strong & Beautiful Seasons

Good morning, y’all!  Hope the weekend is proceeding apace for you!

We’re off to take the Man to a doggy play date at Puppy Tubs, then make the trek north so I can get a haircut (in preparation for my trip that leaves a WEEK FROM TODAY – bleh!) and hit Costco.  Then tomorrow – after waking up an hour earlier than my clock says it is…think that one thru – I’ll head north again to our Inkin’ Krew meeting!! Whooo-hooo!  Can’t wait!

My card today is one for providing encouragement or cheering on a friend in a new endeavor.  And I used sentiments from the Strong & Beautiful stamp set with some pretty flowers and foliage from the Painted Seasons set.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

I started with a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and used my Stamparatus to stamp three Painted Seasons flowers.  I first inked and stamped the image in Grapefruit Grove.  Then I used a Sponge Dauber to add Poppy Parade to just the edges of a couple of the flowers and Mango Melody on the third.  Then I cut them out with their matching dies in the Four Seasons framelits (part of the SAB Coordination release).

While I was at it, I made from fern-y leaves by inking the image in Lemon Lime Twist and adding some Call Me Clover with a Sponge Dauber.  And I did a few smaller leaves in just Lemon Lime Twist.  Then I cut them out as well.

I started to build the collage by stamping some Painted Seasons leaves on a Whisper White panel to create the background.  I stamped them in Lemon Lime Twist and Call Me Clover.  I also added some splotches in Mango Melody.  Then I matted the panel on Mango Melody for the card front.

I adhered my fern-y die cut leaves with Liquid Glue.  I also added a few short lengths of Whisper White 5/8″ Flax Ribbon with Liquid Glue.

I adhered the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue.  Then I slid the Lemon Lime Twist die cut leaves in here and there, adhering them with Liquid Glue.

My sentiment, from the Strong & Beautiful stamp set, is stamped in Poppy Parade on Whisper White.  I used two dies from the new Lily Framelits – one to cut the sentiment and one to cut the larger shape for the Mango Melody mat.  I adhered the sentiment to the mat with Liquid GLue.

I pulled some lengths of twine out of another piece of Whisper White 5/8″ Flax Ribbon and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them behind my sentiment.  Then I popped the sentiment onto the card front with those Dimensionals.

I added some Grapefruit Grove Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Strong & Beautiful in Poppy Parade to a Whisper White panel.  Then I stamped more Lemon Lime Twist/Call Me Clover leaves.  Finally, I finished up with some Mango Melody splotches.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Poppy Parade card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more leaves and splotches on the front…

…and I added some Painted Seasons DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How pretty are those Painted Seasons flowers?  And it’s especially handy and cool that we can un-fussy-cut them with the new Four Seasons Framelits!  I love the sentiments in the Strong & Beautiful stamp set, too, don’t you!?  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

“No, Finny-win….Mr. Reindeer has to stay in the house while we go feed the ponies.  He’ll be right here on the counter when we come back inside.”

“No – I’ll make sure the cat does NOT get to hold, chew or lick Mr. Reindeer while we’re outside.  I promise!”

Love the layering and all-round beauty of this card. You are so creative! Finn cracks me up with that reindeer! 🤣

I know – the way his lips flop up over it just makes me smile every time! 🙂 Thanks very much, Susan! 🙂

  2. So pretty! I love the colors and your design is perfect! Great card. Poor Finn…I think that Mr Reindeer would like to see the barn too. Can’t he just go once?? 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Mr. Reindeer is a bit of a messy-boy! I just know he’d go wallow in the dirt – fleas, ticks, burrs…the horror! So – no. Mean Miss Mary is making him stay inside! 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  3. All this layering, the colors, the pearls, the ribbon…makes my heart soar! It’s a winner even if Finn lost 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Fortunately Mr. Reindeer was right where we’d left him when we came back inside! Whew!! Thanks very much, Karen! 🙂

  4. Beautiful floral card and such a wonderful arrangement of foliage! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
