Stampin’ Up! To Have & To Hold Lovely Lattice

Happy Friday!  And – it’s the last work day before we get to go back to the best time of the year.  I speak, of course, of Daylight Savings Time!  The time of later light at night.

And yes – I know – it’s dark longer in the morning – but that’ll fix itself in good time!

Folks – it’s the presaging of SPRING!

Just squint yer eyes real hard and ignore that snow and nasty cold rain outside – DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME.

Almost.  Spring.

Now – a lot of folks get married in the Spring, and – some years ago – my friend’s parents did, too!  Since we’ve known them, we’ve been pulled into their family – we have holiday dinners and celebrations with them.  So…it’s only fitting that I make an Anniversary card for them.  And how handy that SU! released the perfect set in the Occasions catalog – called To Have & To Hold.  And I paired it with the FREE Lovely Lattice stamp set!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this card comes from this week’s Tuesday Morning Sketches.

My friend Karen Ksenzakovic did a card yesterday using the White Wash Technique with the Lovely Lattice stamp set – and I loved it so much that I gave it a go myself!  You can see her beautiful card right here!

I started with the Lovely Lattice image and, using my Stamparatus, stamped it in Versamark ink on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock.  Then I sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool.

When the embossing cooled, I used a pretty-dry Aqua Painter to color the image with Craft Whisper White Ink.  I gave it a quick blast with the low setting on my Heat Tool and set it aside to dry fully.

While it dried, I matted a piece of Share What You Love Specialty DSP on Old Olive cardstock with Liquid Glue for the card front.

I used some more Liquid Glue to adhere a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon.

On a strip of Crumb Cake, I stamped the sentiment from the To Have & To Hold stamp set in Blackberry Bliss.  I used my Paper Snips to cut a banner end and then edged the strip with my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker.

By now the Lovely Lattice was good and dry.  So, with my Blender Pens, I colored the image by picking up ink from the lids of my ink pads.  I colored all the flowers first with Petal Pink.  Then I added some additional shading and color – using Grapefruit Grove and Blackberry Bliss.  I used Mossy Meadow to color all the leaves and stems.

Finally, I ran the panel thru the Big Shot in the Subtle Dynamic TIEF.

With my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker, I added “doodle-dots” around the image and the edge of the panel.  Then I matted it on Old Olive and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added my sentiment with Liquid Glue.

I tied a Double-loop Billie Bow from Linen Thread and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Over top is a double-length simple bow from Old Olive Linen Thread – that I adhered with some Liquid Glue.  To finish off the card front, I added a few Rich Razzleberry Share What You Love Artisan Pearls!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from To Have & To Hold in Blackberry Bliss, using my Stamparatus, to a Crumb Cake panel.  Over the top, I stamped the sweet couple image in stamped-off-once Crumb Cake.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Old Olive mat and into my Blackberry Bliss card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another of the To Have & To Hold images on the front in Crumb Cake…

…and I added more Share What You Love Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  To Have & To Hold is such a perfect set for weddings or anniversaries!  And there’s no disputing the gorgeousness of the Lovely Lattice stamp set – and…knowing that you can get it for FREE during Sale-A-Bration (which is in its last month!!) with a $50 order – makes it even more gorgeous, doesn’t it??  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

This is a Finn-Adjacent Fan Fix today!

Yesterday, after a quick trip to the Post Office, Wayne and I took the Man for a walk around the local city pond.

Which is inhabited by ducks and geese and – on this day…

We’re used to seeing these guys across our own pond – sometimes they zoom the pond when they arrive to have do a little fishing.

But this is REALLY close.  I’m barely zoomed in!

As you might imagine, Finn was FASCINATED!!

The Big Guy (the bird, not Finn) was able to stand our presence  – and our danged intrusive picture taking! – for about 15 seconds, then…

I REALLY wish I’d been a little quicker with the camera – cuz that’s a cool shot!! – and not cut his wing out of the frame!

But…check this one!

Skimming the ground effect!

Somebody call National Geographic!! 😉

LOL

Beautiful card, Mary! I’m sure your friends will treasure it! I always love your Billie bows👍 Wonderful pictures! I did call National Geographic, but their line was busy😕 if it weren’t for his feet hanging down, one might think that last pic was a Klingon ship😆

    • stampsnlingers

Oh boy – I knew I liked you for a reason, Elisha! A Klingon Battlecruiser – for sure!! Thanks so much! 🙂

  8. Patricia

Hi Mary, did you paint the flowers along with the lattice with the white craft paint before you added the color to the flowers? Thanks for your help

Yes, ma’am! I painted the whole image in Craft White! Thanks! 🙂
