Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! Today’s a sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with! I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop.
I decided to play with the new and wonderful Sale-A-Bration Second Release Painted Seasons bundle (available 15 Feb) – and the More Than Words set from the SAB Coordination release (coming on 1 March!). And, no – regardless of the color scheme, it is NOT a Christmas card! 😉 Take a look-see:
And – here’s our sketch!
I started with the wunnermus pine-strewn paper from the Painted Seasons DSP (bundled with the Painted Seasons stamp set and available TOMORROW!) and matted it on Poppy Parade for the card front.
The middle panel is a piece of Whisper White, embossed in the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF and matted on Poppy Parade.
For the sentiment, I stamped the first part from More Than Words in Call Me Clover on Whisper White. Right under it, in Poppy Parade, I added the second part of the sentiment. Then I punched it with the Story Label punch (also part of the SAB Coordination goodies and coming to you on 1 March!). I also punched a Poppy Parade label at the same time.
I cut the Poppy Parade label in half the long-ways and then adhered it to the embossed panel with Liquid Glue. I adhered the two pieces far enough apart to make a mat for the sentiment.
I wrapped a piece of Poppy Parade 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots. Then I popped the panel on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I adhered the sentiment label over the mat and ribbon with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On a piece of scrap Whisper White, I stamped some ferns from Painted Seasons in Granny Apple Green and Call Me Clover. I inked the images directly using Sponge Daubers – starting with the Granny Apple Green and then adding the Call Me Clover in the center. The Stamparatus let me stamp the image multiple times until I got it the way I wanted it colored!
Then I cut them with the matching dies in the Four Seasons Framelits (SAB Coordination product). I also used the small leaves die in the Wonderful Floral Framelits to cut a few Early Espresso leaves. And used a die from Pretty Pines Thinlits to cut Call Me Clover boughs.
I also stamped a few Painted Seasons pine cones – I used my Stamparatus to stamp the image multiple times, layering Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Early Espresso. These were also cut with their Four Seasons Framelits.
I tucked all the foliage under the sentiment with Liquid Glue, arranging everything just ever so artfully! To finish off the card front, I tied a bow from the Poppy Parade 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon and popped it on with a Glue Dot!
On the inside, I added a flurry of Painted Seasons foliage in Granny Apple Green/Call Me Clover – having inked the stamps with Sponge Daubers like I did for the front. I also stamped some Poppy Parade dot images here and there amongst the ferns. And – no. STILL not a Christmas card! 😉
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Poppy Parade mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Painted Seasons foliage and dots across the front…
…and I added more Painted Seasons DSP to the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I’m sorry. I simply HAD to use that paper. It’s been CALLING MY NAME since I got my pack of Painted Seasons DSP!! I know. It’s Christmas-y. But it’s NOT a Christmas card. More Than Words DOES have Christmas sentiments – but…this is NOT a Christmas card. So…I didn’t use them! I hope you like – and are getting ready to snap up the Painted Seasons Bundle when it goes live tomorrow!

This is a fabulous “not a Christmas card”. Lol I do enjoy your humor and your fabulous cards. Keep them coming! Do you have blocking on your card images that prevent saving them to pinterest? I am not able to save most of your cards.
Oh – nope! As long as you’re in the actual blog post – not from the home page. So – if you click on the blog post title, it’ll take you to the actual post. Then you ought to get a Pinterest button when you hover over a picture! 🙂 Thank you so much, Connie! 🙂
