Good morning, y’all, as we head into another week. Hope it’s looking okay for you – take heart from the fact that next week is a long weekend!
I’m sorry we weren’t able to do our video last night – hopefully by the time you read this they’ll have it fixed. As in fixed “good” – not just poking along at the speed of dial-up… 😉
So – I needed a sympathy card for my friend – and this is one of two that I made for her to choose from. This one uses the gorgeous Rose Trellis Thinlits and a few sentiments from the Flowing Fountain stamp set. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
I started with Shimmery White card stock and matted it on Highland Heather for the card front.
Next, again with Shimmery White card stock, I cut two of the small detailed rose dies in the Rose Trellis Thinlits, and adhered one in each corner of the card front with Liquid Glue.
I used my Stamparatus and added a pretty sentiment from the new Flowing Fountain stamp set in Highland Heather.
Then I pulled out my FREE (with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration) Botanical Butterfly DSP. And my Paper Snips. And I started cutting out butterflies!
I popped all the butterflies on with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals – just under the center of them, so their wings could be lightly curled up!
I added some Pearl Basic Jewels here and there and the card front was done!
On the inside, I added a second sentiment from the Flowing Fountain stamp set in Highland Heather on a Shimmery White panel. In Balmy Blue, I stamped the trellis image from the Climbing Roses stamp set in the corner. Then I added some more fussy cut butterflies with Liquid Glue. I drew in some antennae for each of the butterflies with my Journaling Pen.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Highland Heather mat and into my Balmy Blue card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Balmy Blue trellis from Climbing Roses and another fussy cut butterfly on the front…
…and I used some of the Botanical Butterfly DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! This Flowng Fountain is really the perfect stamp set for a Sympathy card – the sentiments are spot on! But it also works well for a friendship card, too – Winner winner! And Botanical Butterfly DSP is simply beyond gorgeous!! Hope you like!
