Good mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew team blog hop! Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Love! We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!
There are several potential candidates for cards about love in the new 2019 Occasions Catalog – but I decided to pull out the gorgeous new Climbing Roses stamp set and bundled Rose Trellis Thinlits. Then I added a few Butterflies. Cuz…I could! Take a look-see:
The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch challenge at the Paper Craft Crew!
And the colors (and roses!) are straight outta the Color Throwdown Challenge!
I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock that I embossed in the Subtle Dynamic TIEF and matted on Granny Apple Green for the card front.
Next up, with the fun die in the new Rose Trellis Thinlits, I cut the large hexagons grid (the trellis, I’m guessing!) from Whisper White and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue for even more tone-on-tone texture.
On another piece of Whisper White, I stamped the gorgeous large rose spray and the small single rose images from Climbing Roses in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Then I used my Light and Dark Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends to color it – I also used my Dark Mango Melody to add a little additional shading to the roses.
Then I cut them out with the matching dies in the Rose Trellis set and popped the large one over the trellis with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I sponged some Granny Apple Green in a small circle on a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock, leaving it lighter in the middle of the circle. Then I placed the leaf dies in the middle of the circle and cut them out. I adhered them (with “automatic” shading!) to the card front with Liquid Glue.
The sentiment, also from Climbing Roses, is stamped in Tuxedo Black and cut with the label die from Rose Trellis, then adhered with Dimensionals and Liquid Glue. Then I used more Liquid Glue to add the single rose I’d created earlier.
Finally, I sponged some Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green ink onto a piece of Whisper White, stamped the little butterfly from the Butterfly Gala stamp set over top and punched it out with the Butterfly Duet Punch. Then I popped it onto the sentiment label with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional, added a single Pearl Basic Jewel to the butterfly and the card front was done!
For the inside of the card, I added a second Climbing Roses sentiment in Tuxedo Black, as well as another single yellow rose.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Granny Apply Green mat and into my Daffodil Delight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done.
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got two more single roses on the front…
…and then I added some new (and FREE for Sale-A-Bration!) Botanical Butterfly DSP to the envelope flap, after I colored the butterflies with my Stampin’ Blends.
Et Voila! Oh my goodness, y’all – I LOVE this Climbing Roses and Rose Trellis bundled set – it is simply stunningly pretty! And I believe there’s no doubt that the Butterfly Gala – and coordinating free (during SAB with a $50 purchase!) Botanical Butterfly DSP is a real crowd pleaser! I hope you like!
