Good morning, my peeps – on this Monday two exact weeks before Christmas! UPDATE: My friends in the blogisphere have pointed out that my panic is unjustifiably SMALL – Christmas is only ONE WEEK AWAY! YIKES!!! Please wish me luck getting things wrapped and boxed and out the door today! Time. Is. Running. OUT!!
Also – I need to make cookies and whatnot….if only I didn’t like to sleep… 😉
If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me! I know how busy everyone is! If not and you’d like to see how to make this gift card holder, you can check it out right here on YouTube.
I first saw this idea on Patty Bennet’s blog and I thought it was so cute that I decided to make one for myself! Being that Gift Cards are so much a part of my gift-list this year!
I used the All Is Bright DSP in several different designs, plus some sentiments and images from the Making Christmas Bright and Bring On The Presents stamp sets. Take a look-see:
My color scheme is pretty much from the Color Throwdown challenge this week – I did use a little Pineapple Punch in there!
I started with a Crumb Cake base, cut to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere a piece of the All Is Bright DSP to a Real Red mat and then to the Crumb Cake card base.
The pullout is a piece of Call Me Clover card stock, with various pieces of the All Is Bright DSP adhered to the sections with Liquid Glue. There are a LOT of panels to decorate with this fun-fold, so don’t miss an opportunity to display your decorating chops! 🙂
On the front panel, I used Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the light string from Making Christmas Bright, then I colored the bulbs with my Real Red, Call Me Clover and Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Write Markers.
I added a “cord” with Tuxedo Black and then stamped the big sentiment bulbs in Real Red and Call Me Clover. Since I needed them to be “on” – I used Pineapple Punch to add some “glow”. Then I added the sentiment in Call Me Clover.
For the gift card holder itself, I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to add a “pocket” to the middle panel.
The inside panel is Whisper White and I used a sticky-note mask and added a big bow and two “ribbons” from the Bring On The Presents stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I colored them with my Real Red Dark and Light Stampin’ Blends. Then I added a Bring On The Presents sentiment in Call Me Clover.
I mentioned there are a lot of panels to decorate with this fold…
…don’t forget about ’em! Your recipient WILL look at those panels, I promise! 😉
Once I had the fold-out portion done, I adhered the back panel to a Real Red mat and then onto the card base with Liquid Glue and that was it for the card!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a another string of Making Christmas Bright lights on the front…
…and I put some more of the All Is Bright DSP to the envelope flap.
Et Voila! How cool is this fold?!? It’s so easy AND it lets you really have fun decorating and showing off our gorgeous designer papers! Oh – and it lets you give a gift card in an oh-so-personal way! This one, with the Making Christmas Bright and Bring On The Presents stamp set images and sentiments, will be perfect for Christmas morning! Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix
Finn was scrolling thru e-mails the other day and saw a cute cartoon my mom sent:
His sense of fair-play was immediately affronted and he decided to push the envelope.
Just like a human, he searched and found the perfect paradigm-challenging “stick/tree”…
…and, once he’d located it, brought it to the house.
Sadly – the paradigm still holds true.
And his tree/stick remains outside where it belongs.
Sorry, big Man. 😉
