Good morning, y’all! Here ’tis Friday again! I LOVE a short week so much!! Wish they were all like this!
I have a cute little card to share with you today with another sneak peek from the Occasions Catalog. This one uses a set called Amazing Life – and it’s got the most perfect birthday sentiments! Take a look-see:
My layout for this one is from the sketch side of this week’s Fusion challenge.
And the colors come from The Paper Players.
Here’s a little gander at the stamp set itself: Amazing Life!
Cute, huh? You’ll be able to pick this one up in January (starting on the 3rd!)!
I started with a panel of Whisper White and added a strip of So Saffron Subtles DSP to the side with Liquid Glue. Then I matted it all on Poppy Parade.
Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the sentiment from Amazing Life in Poppy Parade. Over that, in So Saffron, I added the sweet little cake image. Then I added some little flourishes in Gray Granite.
I used my Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker to lightly color the candle on the cake and my So Saffron Marker to add little teensy dots inside the word “cake”.
I wrapped some Gray Granite 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots. I wrapped a shorter length around the ribbon and tied it snugly to create a “faux bow” – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Amazing Life in Poppy Parade to a Whisper White panel, and stamped the cake over it in So Saffron. Then I colored the candle and added a Gray Granite flourish or two!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Poppy Parade mat and into my So Saffron card base, popped the card base on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another So Saffron cake on the front…
…and more of the So Saffron Subtles DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! How fun is this Amazing Life stamp set? I love that sentiment – life really IS too short to say no (at least ALL the time!) to cake! Add this one to your list for 3 Jan, y’all! Hope you like!

Great birthday admonition! Card worthy of a frame and a spot where admonition can be remembered and the birthday part conveniently ignored. Cake can have a candle for lots of reasons, yes?
