Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Festive Poinsettia for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! This is another installment of the Joint Blog Hop between the Happy Inkin’ Thursday and Happy Stampers Blog Hop ladies!  I hope you really enjoy all the inspiration you can get from our talented folks!

I pulled out some Festive Farmhouse DSP and the Peaceful Poinsettia bundle to work with our sketch AND color scheme!  Take a look-see:

With these Combined Hops, we get a sketch and a color challenge and we can use one or both.  Take a gander at what we had this week!

I also played along with the Christmas-y challenge over at The Card Concept.

I started by adhering a piece of wood-grain paper from the Festive Farmhouse DSP to a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock for the card front.  Then I took a smaller piece and divided it into three panels, which I adhered to another Cherry Cobbler panel, and then adhered it to the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from Peaceful Poinsettia in Mossy Meadow on a strip of the wood-grain Festive Farmhouse DSP.  Then I snipped a banner end, edged it with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker and adhered it with Liquid Glue to the card front.

I used a couple of pine bough dies from the Pretty Pines Thinlits to cut a few Mossy Meadow boughs.  And the Frosted Bouquet Framelits to cut a couple of Cherry Cobbler berries.  Finally, I cut some holly boughs from Sparkle Glimmer Paper with the dies in the Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere all my embellishments to the card front, in preparation for my Poinsettia!

I cut the detailed flower from Cherry Cobbler card stock using the two-die method from the Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits.  I also cut a plain Whisper White solid flower.  I used my Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends to color that Whisper White flower – adding shading in the center.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the detailed flower atop the colored solid flower.  I brushed the inside of the flower with Clear Wink of Stella – in hindsight…should do this step BEFORE adhering the detailed flower! LOL!

I added some Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of my flower and used them to wind some Gold Metallic Thread, then I popped the flower onto the card front.

I added some gold Metallic Pearls to the middle of the flower – and one to the end of my sentiment banner, and the card front was done!

On the inside, I cut another Detailed Poinsettia from Cherry Cobbler and adhered it in a corner of a Whisper White panel with Liquid Glue, then I snipped the excess card stock.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Gray Granite card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got two Detailed Poinsettia holly-sprig die cuts in Whisper White on the front…

…and a little more Festive Farmhouse DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Pines, Peaceful Poinsettias and Frosted Bouquets – all coming together with some Festive Farmhouse DSP for a collage-y Christmas card.  Hope you like!
