Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Blizzard Snowfall

Well – it’s here again – Monday!

Enjoying Daylight Standard Time so far?  Feeling extra-rested with that whole ‘nuther hour you got yesterday? LOL

If you think you did – holler at me when it’s dark at 5 tonight.  Bleh! 🙁

If you were able to join me last night on my Facebook Live, I appreciate you spending part of that extra hour with me!  If not – here’s the Memorex version on YouTube!

I used the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set – and added a few little goodies from the Snowflake Showcase.  Take a look-see:

I borrowed the layout for this one from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!

I started with a piece of the Galvanized Metallic Paper and embossed it in the new Swirls & Curls TIEF, then I adhered it to a Bermuda Bay mat with Liquid Glue.

For the sentiment panel, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the pretty swirls from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set in Balmy Blue across a Whisper White panel.

I added the sentiment in Bermuda Bay, then I cut the panel down to size and adhered it to its Bermuda Bay mat.

I wrapped a length of Bermuda Bay 1/4″ Mini Striped Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.  Then I popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered a new Snowflake Trinket with a Glue Dot and then added a bow over that with a final Glue Dot – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added three snowflakes onto a Whisper White panel.  They’re cut from Sparkle Glimmer Paper using the dies in the new Snowfall Thinlits and adhered with Liquid Glue.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Bermuda Bay mat and into my Balmy Blue card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a flurry of Beautiful Blizzard snowflakes in Balmy Blue on the front…

…and on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  It’s easy to forget about stamp sets in the Annual Catalog when we’re playing with Holiday goodies – but…don’t!  And don’t be afraid to mix-and-match!  Beautiful Blizzard worked wonderfully with the lovely snowflakes from the Snowfall Thinlits!  And – a Snowflake Trinket was the perfect finishing touch!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

The Man can figure when someone is leaving like nobody’s business.

He takes his clues from…a lot of places.

For me – he starts figuring I’m leaving when…I use hairspray.

Yes – that’s all it takes to arouse his suspicion.

And – when I put my sunglasses on – he is GLUED to the back door.

Wayne tends to have fewer “tells” for him.

So…I guess he just figures that if the Dad is hurrying around – usually looking for his glasses/key/wallet/etc – then…he must be leaving.

I tried to tell him he wasn’t going anywhere (he was checking the tire pressure on the van in the garage).

He wasn’t buying what I was selling!

  1. Pretty card! Love those shades of blue for the holidays! Ha! Finn knows that you’re leaving…he’s not so dumb. 😉 Maybe we could put a hat on him and sneak him into the events. I’m sure that no one would notice! 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

I’ll stamp him a therapy dog vest out of Shimmer Paint! He’d be the show-stealer, for sure! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Great design…sorry I missed you. I’m showing everyone here your wonderful Man.

  3. Kate

I knew this would be a beautiful card…and it surely is!
We are way more obvious than we think, I’m afraid. I always feel sad if Clara just goes to her kennel. I am sure there are patient bassett sighs of resignation if I could only hear them. 😐

No matter how hard we try to hide our agenda…they KNOW! Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  4. Susan K

Beautiful card and great take on the sketch. I’m not normally wild about the font in that set, but it looks good on this card. Poor Finn… may think Mom’s been gone a lot lately.

And he’d be right! 🙁 Getting to where I really don’t want to be gone if I can’t take him with me! Soon… Thanks very much, Susan! 🙂

  5. I’m just getting to know your website and lovin’ it! I have to say that my border collie figures every time I close my laptop it is time to go out. Actually just standing up is good enough for him. He lives to go outside and play 🙂 Thanks for all your card inspiration!

LOL! Fortunately Finn is a solid sleeper – he loves to go out – but he ALSO loves just sleeping the day away while I work! Thanks much, Debbie – welcome! 🙂
