Stampin’ Up! Joyous Illuminated Christmas

Well.  The weeks are just scooting by, aren’t they?  Just a second ago, it was Monday.  And now…

I don’t want to worry you but…it’s almost time to be needing your comfy, elastic-waist fat-pants!

Yes.  Thanksgiving.

And – practically the next day?  Christmas.

Yikes.  Where HAS the year gone!??

Actually – you don’t really need to be worried.  In truth, you’ve got all of 54 days left till Christmas.  No worries at all!

Of course, you might be wanting to make some Christmas cards – so…let me help you out.  My project today uses a beautiful new set called Illuminated Christmas with some Joyous Noel Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

This layout comes from the FabFriday sketch!

Here’s a cool little tidbit about the Illuminated Christmas stamp set – it coordinates with the Stained Glass Thinlits in the Annual Catalog!  So…if you bought THAT bundle (it’s the Painted Glass Bundle on page 165!) then you’re all ready!

I started with some gorgeous Joyous Noel Specialty DSP and matted it on Merry Merlot for the card front.

With the frame die in the Stained Glass Thinlits, I cut a Copper Foil frame and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I pulled out the Pretty Pines Thinlits and cut two Tranquil Tide pine boughs and a Copper Foil berry branch, which I adhered with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Crumb Cake card stock, I stamped the Illuminated Christmas sentiment in Merry Merlot and cut it with a square Stitched Shapes Framelit.  I matted it on Merry Merlot and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the pretty flower from Illuminated Christmas in Merry Merlot.  I colored them with Merry Merlot and Tranquil Tide using a Blender Pen, then I cut them with the die from the Stained Glass Thinlits.

I used an old Blender Pen to add little dots of Bright Copper Shimmer Paint to the middle of each flower.  When that was dry, I adhered the flowers – two with Liquid Glue and the final one with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a double-loop Billie-Bow from Linen Thread and adhered it with a Glue Dot – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Illuminated Christmas sentiment in Merry Merlot on Whisper White and added another flower in the corner.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Merry Merlot mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another flower on the front…

…and I gave the envelope flap a little more Joyous Noel Specialty DSP.

Et Voila!  I love the beautiful sentiments in this pretty set!  Illuminated Christmas is a lovely, Spirit-filled stamp set, perfect for the Christmas season. Hope you like!

Lots of folks snapping up my Snowflake Showcase Special Bundle – don’t miss out!

Finn Fan Fix

I think it’s fair to say that Finn loves (as in LOVES!) the golf cart.

If you look around and he’s not around?

Check the golf cart.

Just chillin’, Mom.

(Check the casual chillin’-hands)

He really doesn’t even care WHERE the golf cart IS in relation to us.

Case in point.

Wayne and I were working on the telehandler the other day.

Don’t ask.

While I waited (in the telehandler) for my next instruction, I looked up in time to see the Man strolling toward…

See it?

Here – try this.

Still just chillin’…and surveying his domain!  All while keeping an eye on us back at the barn. 🙂

  1. What a pretty card Mary! Love the intricate die cut frame, perfect layering too! And Finn…well, no sense in getting your paws dirty unless you have to. If you get all dirty, mom just makes you stand there while she cleans you and no on wants that… 😉

  2. Kate

    Very nice!
All projects need a supervisor…you know, for quality control. 😆

He’s the Man for the job, for sure! Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  5. So pretty – that paper goes perfectly with your lovely sentiments – beautiful! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!

  6. How did I miss that stamp set? What page is it on? Of course, I NEED it! That is one of my favorite DSP sheets and I can’t even remember if I’ve used it yet. I am sooooo entertained by you and your man and I have to look up “telehandler”. Hugs!

      Page 14! And – yes – it’s easy to miss! But…worth the second look. Take a google-gander at a telehandler – you’ll be so impressed! 😉 Thanks, Karen! 🙂
