Stampin’ Up! Takeout Treats and Cauldrons

Good morning, y’all!  I hope your week is going well and that you’re stocking up with the World Card Making Day special savings!  And…are checking out the Stamp-N-Storage special also going on.

It’s just a…special kind of week, eh?? 🙂

My card today is quick and easy-peasy for Halloween!  It started with some Toil & Trouble DSP and then pulled some elements from the Takeout Treats bundle.  Take a look-see:

I played along with this week’s Just Us Girls theme challenge!

I started with some Gorgeous Grape paper from the Toil & Trouble DSP and matted it on Lemon Lime Twist for the card front.

Next up, I cut a circle from Mango Melody paper in the Brights DSP pack and matted it on a Scalloped Circle in Lemon Lime Twist.  Then I sliced it in half and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

With a second piece of the Brights DSP, I cut a banner with the Triple Banner Punch and adhered it just under the half-moon with Liquid Glue.

I cut three equal-sized lengths of new Black 3/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon and adhered them with a few Glue Dots.

My sentiment, from the Takeout Treats stamp set, is heat embossed in White on Gorgeous Grape card stock, then cut with the die from the Takeout Thinlits.

I stuck some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the sentiment and used them to wind loops of Silver Metallic Thread, then to pop it all onto the card front.  I finished off by removing the little loop from the end of a Spider Trinket (it just opens up and slides right off) and used a Glue Dot to adhere it to the sentiment.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the Cauldron Bubble stamp set in Gorgeous Grape on a Whisper White panel.  Next to it, I added the little hearts and stars from Takeout Treats in Lemon Lime Twist.  Then I colored the stars with my Gorgeous Grape Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Lemon Lime Twist mat and then into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

…then I added a little more Mango Melody paper from the Brights DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Super quick and easy for Halloween thanks to the fun Takeout Treats bundle and Cauldron Bubble!  Of course, the Toil & Trouble DSP, with its fun – and oh-so-spookilicious colors – helps take it over the top!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

I took some more pictures of the Man the other night when he was helping himself to my lap.

I’m not even going to narrate – they don’t need it.

I’ll just sit here quietly and let you gaze upon the sweet face of my sweet little dog.  I may be biased – but…he’s awfully handsome!

Oh – well – do be sure to check out the tongue.

You’ll know which picture.

It was that last one, in case you were wondering…

You’re welcome!

  1. I like this card, even though Halloween isn’t my thing. Great pics of THE MAN! Love the way he crosses his paws. Does he not know he is really too big to be a lap dog?

    • stampsnlingers

No. No he does not. He’s quite convinced that everything is just fitting perfectly! 🙂 🙂 🙂 Thanks so much, Julie! 🙂

  2. What a cute card! Love the layering under your sentiment, perfectly embellished too! Finn does look awfully comfortable there…he’s so little and is just the perfect size for a lap dog. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

He really is. Practically a pocket-puppy!! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  3. Elisha Smith

Super cute card! I love the frilliness the ribbon adds! Yep – I see the tongue . . . and the paws! We call them flappers😆 He is adorable!

    • stampsnlingers

Flappers!! OMG – I’m ROFL!! That’s PERFECT! Thanks so much, Elisha, for the words and the laugh! 🙂

  4. Kate

    Fun Halloween card. Great sentiment.
Love love love the crossed Finn-paws…😆

    • stampsnlingers

      Thsnks, Mom! They’re pretty cute Finn-paws! 🙂

  5. Ooh, that ribbon! Love the colors you chose. I’m much more enamored with the way he has his paws crossed. He’s got such cute “little” feet. Yes, the little bit of tongue showing is sweet too. Can you capture any photos of where he is not the cutest, handsomest, funnist little man in the world?

    • stampsnlingers

I’d have much easier time getting a shot of Sasquatch!! It’s pretty hard cuz he’s pretty much the cutest, handsomest, funnist little man in the world 24/7! 🙂 Thanks much, Karen! 🙂

  6. Charlotte Hutcheson

Mary, I have just discovered your blog and am delighted with it and your tutorials. I watched the plaid making with the buffalo plaid stamp this morning and loved it, especially your quirky sayings and the fact that you call the Stamparatus a Stampapottamus…love your sense of humor and your cards. I live in central Texas and am a crafting demonstrator for Stampin Up…the buffalo plaid stamp is on my list for my next order. You have a great menagerie and am sure they keep you busy. Cool beans (my favorite saying) to you and yours for the coming fall and holiday season. Regards, Charlotte Hutcheson

    • stampsnlingers

Well – welcome, Charlotte! So happy that you found my blog and videos! And that you’re enjoying them – it’s always nice to hear! DO get that Buffalo Check – it’s such an awesome stamp! Hope you’re seeing a little Fall in central Texas! Happy upcoming Holidays to you, too. 🙂

  7. Your card design would make a great front door wreath, Mary. Add the stripes and it’s perfect for our challenge at Just Us Girls. Thanks for joining us.
