Stampin’ Up! Festive Spirited Snowmen

Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all!  We’re sitting watching the impending arrival of Florence on the east coast.  Seems that every time they show the potential track – they move it.

Which means that only Flo knows where Flo is going to go.

About the only thing all the models and weather peeps can agree on is that it’s going to be very bad.

If you’re in her sights – I hope you made tracks and are somewhere safe!

My card for today is just a fun little number that uses the new Spirited Snowmen stamp set and some Festive Farmhouse DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout was inspired by this week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.

I started with a piece of the pretty Festive Farmhouse DSP and matted it on Cherry Cobbler for the card front.  Then I used a few Glue Dots to adhere a length of 5/8″ Striped Burlap Trim.

I matted another piece of Festive Farmhouse on Cherry Cobbler and popped it over the burlap trim with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sweet little Spirited Snowmen image in Crumb Cake on some Very Vanilla card stock and colored it with my Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend, as well as my Light and Dark Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Smoky Slate Blends.  I also used the Color Lifter to add some highlighting.

Then I cut the image out with my largest circle Stitched Shapes Framelit die and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut a Blizzard Thinlits die from Very Vanilla card stock and used Liquid Glue to adhered them on the top of the circle.

For the Spirited Snowmen sentiment, I stamped it in Cherry Cobbler on a strip of Very Vanilla – then I punched the end with my Everyday Label punch.  I stuck the strip in thru the BACK of the punch to create the cute little end!  I used my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker to add some faux stitches and adhered it to the card front with Glue.

To the end of the sentiment, I added another Blizzard Thinlit snowflake, a Linen Thread double-loop Billie-bow and a double-length bow of Cherry Cobbler Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine.  I colored a few Pearl Basic Jewels with the Dark Cherry Cobbler Blend and adhered them to the snowflakes – and the card was done!

On the inside, I stamped some Spirited Snowmen snowflakes and holly in Crumb Cake on a Very Vanilla panel.  I colored the holly with my Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Blends.  Then I “stitched” around the holly with the Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Spirited Snowmen snowflakes and holly on the front…

…and the envelope flap got some more of the Festive Farmhouse DSP.

Et Voila!  Not Christmas, per se – but certainly a lovely card for the approaching festive season.  I love these little Spirited Snowmen – and putting them atop Festive Farmhouse DSP just seemed like the right thing to do!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

We’ve had a bit of a problem with respect this week.

Or – lack thereof.

I think the picture will speak for itself.

Are you kidding me, squirrel?!?  I.  AM.  DOG!

  1. As soon as I saw the topic of the FFC, I knew I best not be sipping my coffee…and I was right! OM, you are too funny and what a cute pic. Your card is very nostalgic for me with the snow people, the plaid, colors and ribbon. Perfect take on the sketch. It’s a winner in my book!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Karen! Glad that you refrained from that sip of coffee – would hate to have been the cause of a caffeine-snort! 🙂

  2. Oh, that’s awesome Mary!!! Love the vintage feel of your card, perfect colors and design too! Ha, yep…the squirrels torment Ginny at our house too.

    • stampsnlingers

THAT one was particularly bold, don’t you think!?? Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

Hey Mary, good morning, love the card, I am going to try the design today with a fall fashion.
Will let you know how it turns out. Have a great day. Looking forward to Nov. Jean

    • stampsnlingers

Me, too, Jean! OnStage is going to be awesome – and so fun to have so many of us there! Thanks much – looking forward to seeing what you create! 🙂

  4. Kate

VERY nice card…snowfall in Just The right background!
    Those squirrels…very cheeky, no?
Book or batten down as Flo approaches. Hope will be less intense and shorter-lived than forecast.

    • stampsnlingers

We’re watching Flo – hopefully she’ll take a big ole chill pill and settle down early. Yes – they’re pushy little boogers! Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  5. Mary,
I love this card!! This is one of my favorite stamp sets (that stamp in particular). Love what you did with it.

  8. Adorable card. May have to re-consider this set.

  9. Jenny Engelke

With all the farmhouse accents it’s like this snow couple is the Chip and Joanna Gains of the snow world! 😁 I absolutely love every single detail on this card. I breezed past the snowflake die in the catalog because I wasn’t a huge fan of the coordinating stamp set, but now I see that was a big mistake on my part. I may have to put in just one more order! The snowflakes look so great as your accessory elements!

    • stampsnlingers

LOL! The Chip and Joanna Gaines of the snow world – I LOVE that!! Yes – the die is really excellent, Jenny – you probably NEED it! 🙂 Thanks much!

  10. Such wonderful layering! Love your coloring technique on the snowmen and your stitching with the marker is fabulous. Thanks for playing at Hand Stamped Sentiments.
