Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Peaceful Poinsettias

‘Sup, y’all?  Hope your weekend is starting out well – and that you’ve got plans to do something fun! 🙂

When I ordered all the goodies for my shares, I procured a few more goodies from the Holiday Catalog.  Some of which I’d been pining for since I saw them – but had tried to be good and wait until I got home from California to bring on board.  One of those is the gorgeous Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set and the bundled Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by this week’s Global Design Project sketch challenge.

I started out by stamping all over a Crumb Cake panel with the large poinsettia image in Crumb Cake ink for a tone-on-tone look.  Then I matted the panel on Mango Melody card stock to create the card front.

I wrapped a length of Shaded Spruce Metallic Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with a few Glue Dots.

I cut a strip of All Is Bright DSP, matted it on Mango Melody and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the Peaceful Poinsettia sentiment in Shaded Spruce on a Whisper White panel, using my Stamparatus.  In the top corner, in Tuxedo Black, I stamped a couple of berry branches from Peaceful Poinsettia.  I colored the berries with my Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend Marker.  Then I matted the panel on Mango Melody and attached it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the large Poinsettia and a holly sprig in Tuxedo Black on Whisper White, then cut them with the matching die in the Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits.  I colored the two images with my Dark and Light Shaded Spruce, Cherry Cobbler and Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends.

The holly sprig is adhered to the sentiment panel with Liquid Glue, and then the Poinsettia is popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I colored three Pearl Basic Jewels with my Dark Mango Melody Blend and adhered them in the center of the Poinsettia.  Finally, I tied a little bow from the Shaded Spruce Metallic Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On the inside, I added the Peaceful Poinsettia image in two corners of a Whisper White panel in Tuxedo Black and colored them with my Blends.  Then I added a second sentiment in Shaded Spruce.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Shaded Spruce card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Peaceful Poinsettia on the front (I stuck my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig acetate panel that I’ve held onto inside the envelope to protect it from Blend-Bleed-Thru!)…

…and I adhered a little more of the All Is Bright DSP to the envelope flap.

Et voila!  A perfectly positioned Peaceful Pointettia positively captivates, does it not? 😉  And, I love that these gorgeous images even have their own dies in the Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

So – I’m signed up on a website called IHeartDogs.com.  Each day they send me articles about dogs – and, of course, fun products that I can (and do!) buy that help feed shelter dogs and other good dog-deeds.

One of those articles was about how dogs sleep (https://iheartdogs.com/your-dogs-sleeping-habits-can-reveal-secrets-about-their-health-personality/).

By which I mean the position in which they like to sleep.

“Does your pooch simply roll on her back with her paws dangling or stretched up to the sky? This is the ultimate sign of a carefree sleeper. It’s a very vulnerable position, so your pup feels safe and confident enough to doze off this way. Also, it’s a wonderful way for a warm dog to cool off!

Dogs who assume this sleeping position usually tend to be very laid-back and have an independent streak,” says Little Things.

Uhmmm.  Yep.

  1. I tried to resist this one and have until this point. You have captured my attention with all your “p” talk 🙂
The positioning of the paws is pawsitively paramount to the placing of the poinsettia panel. Nice work on your card and capturing Finn not in action.

    • stampsnlingers

LOL! His paws….oh heck. Who am I kidding? I can’t even come close to what you did there! Thanks very much, Karen!! 🙂

  2. Kate

    Very stylish card!
Very carefree Finn!!! I like that site too.

  3. What a beautiful card! Your colors and layers are perfect. And Finn…well, yep, all of those words in the sleep description seem to fit him for sure! 🙂

  5. Beautiful card Mary like all your cards. Your coloring is perfect. I was at a friend’s house the other day and her dog was sleeping that way. She said look at that crazy dog, I will have to tell her, he feels secure doing that.

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – he feels totally safe, which is a compliment to her!! Thank you very much, Shirley! 🙂

  6. Susan K

Your Peaceful Poinsettia is prepossessing, pretty and positively appealing!
The Finn-man obviously feels safe and loves his naps. We have a cat that sleeps on his back. It’s always fun to see. TFS.

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – it’s one of my favorite things. I like it even more when it’s one of the cats! TAHT is trust! Thanks very much, Susan! 🙂
