Stampin’ Up! Making All the Days Bright Sneak Peek

Happy Saturday!  And it’s a REAL one, so…whoo-hooo!

Also – this time NEXT Saturday, I’ll be leavin’ on a jet plane – headed home for wiggle-butt hugs!!  WHOOO-HOOOO!!

And – I assume – a hug or two from Wayne!

But…WIGGLE-BUTT HUGS are even better!

So – my card today uses a fun little set in the new 2018 Holiday Catalog called Making All The Days Bright.  It has a little secret – although not BUNDLED with the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch – it coordinates with it perfectly!  So…when you buy the Making Christmas Bright bundle, be sure to pick this little gen up at the same time! 😉  It’s an image-only set, so I pulled out my All The Good Things set from the Annual Catalog for a couple of sentiments.  And I used a new background stamp called Buffalo Check (2018 Holiday).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

And my color scheme was inspired by the Color Throwdown challenge.

I stamped the new Buffalo Check (which you’ll be able to get in the 2018 Holiday Catalog on 5 Sept) image in So Saffron on a Whisper White panel.  I used my Stamparatus to do it to ensure I got a good image with this large background stamp.

Then I matted the panel on a piece of Mint Macaron card stock with some Liquid Glue.  I wrapped a length of Gray Granite 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

Next, I cut a Mint Macaron leaf with the new Detailed Leaves Thinlits (coming 5 Sept) and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Over the top of that is a Colored Doily adhered with the White side up.

On a piece of So Saffron card stock, I stamped a bunch of the little “petal” image from the Making All The Days Bright set in So Saffron ink and punched them all out with the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch.  Then I lightly sponged all their edges with So Saffron ink, using a Sponge Dauber.

I cut out the smallest circle in my Circles Layering Framelits from a piece of So Saffron and used that as a base for my flower, adhering the petals one at a time with Liquid Glue.  I popped the completed flower on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My sentiment, from All The Good Things, is stamped in Gray Granite on Whisper White and then cut out with the banner die from the Night Owl Thinlits (5 Sept).  I edged it with my So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker and adhered it to the flower with Liquid Glue.

I tied a little Mint Macaron bow with a piece of Nature’s Twine and adhered it with a rolled up Glue Dot – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from All The Good Things in Gray Granite on a Whisper White panel.  Over that, I created a flower using the Make All The Days Bright image – I just stamped the petal in a circle (the image was inked and stamped-off-once each time).

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mint Macaron mat and into my Gray Granite card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

The front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope got a repeat of the Making All The Days Bright flower – in full-strength So Saffron…

…and I added the Buffalo Check in So Saffron to the envelope flap.  I used my Stamparatus again – and used sticky notes to mask off the front of the envelope.

Et Voila!  So many new goodies to love on this card – the Making All The Days Bright is really fun (and so darned handy that it gives you a SECOND stamp set to coordinate with the Making Christmas Bright bundle!) and I LOVE the Buffalo Check! 🙂  I am also thinking that the Detailed Leaves Thinlits are going to become a go-to for leaves this season!  Hope you like!
