Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Promenade on Linen and a Climbing Vine

Good Friday, my peeps!

Well.  It’s hard to believe but…the day has finally arrived.  In some ways it seems like yesterday that I was sitting in the ER with hives.

And in others, it feels like forever that I’ve been out here and waiting for this day!

No matter the perspective, the day has arrived!  This afternoon I head to LA and will fly home tomorrow.  Then there’ll be a whirlwind 24 hours to get everything ready to go.  I know Wayne’s been getting the place ready for us to be gone.  We’ll just need to pack.  And gather Finny’s things for his time at camp….and TAKE him to camp.  I so hope he has a wonderful time.  I’ll have the day to love him up – when we get home again I’ll have to leave before he comes back.

I’m trying to focus on the good part of the trip – and not on the leaving-my-little-man part.  <<insert brave-face emoticon here>> I know he’ll be fine.  And I’ll be fine.

It’s just the doing that’s hard!

But – in about 3 days – we’ll be on the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island on the first part of our trip.  So…Whoo-hooo!!!

These past few days have been a jumble of working and card making.  I made a bunch of cards to share with you while we’re gone – and, of course, there’ll be days when I share pictures of the ship and the glaciers and whales and eagles….and pillow-gifts (without any illegal sneak-peeks of the new Holiday Catalog!).  So – I hope you’re looking forward to sharing the adventure with us!

Today’s card is a soft little number that features the Beautiful Promenade stamp set and bundled Beautiful Layers Thinlits.  I also used my new fave Subtle Dynamic TIEF and the Climbing Vine TIEF.  Take a look-see:

For the layout, I borrowed the sketch from this week’s Sunday Stamps challenge:

And I played along with the Fusion challenge – I used the color scheme versus the sketch.

I started with a Whisper White panel that I embossed in the Climbing Vine TIEF and matted on a piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock for the card front.

I cut two strips of Soft Sea Foam and embossed them both in the Subtle Dynamic TIEF (man, I LOVE the linen texture this wonderful folder gives us!).

The larger strip I adhered to the bottom of the card front with some Liquid Glue.

On the smaller embossed strip I stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful Promenade stamp set in Mossy Meadow.  I popped that sentiment over a Mossy Meadow mat and then adhered the whole thing to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I wrapped a length of Crumb Cake Nature’s Twine around the card front, adhering it in the back with a couple of Glue Dots.

I made the Beautiful Promenade flowers and leaves next.  For the flowers, I stamped the outline image in Mint Macaron on Whisper White and added the fill image in Soft Sea Foam.  The leaves are Mossy Meadow on Soft Sea Foam.  Then I cut everything out with their matching dies in the Beautiful Layers Thinlits.  I also cut some leaves from Mossy Meadow card stock.

I layered everything onto the card front with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I tied a little Nature’s Twine bow and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped another couple of sentiments from Beautiful Promenade in Mossy Meadow on a Whisper White panel.  Then I added a sweet little flower bunch in Mint Macaron.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Soft Sea Foam mat and then into my Soft Suede card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a Mint Macaron flower on the front…

…and on the envelope flap I added another Mint Macaron and Soft Sea Foam flower.

Et Voila!  I love how these colors work together!  Mossy Meadow-Mint Macaron-Soft Sea Foam were simply made for each other, don’t you think?  They work so perfectly with the Beautiful Promenade stamp set and Beautiful Layers Thinlits, too.  The end result has an elegant, organic feel.  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

No FFF’s for a minute, guys.  Cuz of how – he’s there and I’m here! 🙁

He’ll be back, though!  Despair not – absence makes the heart grow fonder! 🙂

And my heart is simply overflowing with “fond” right now – just over a day and I’ll be covered in wiggle-butt! 🙂

…and then will be leaving him again.  I can hardly stand it. 🙁

He will have a great time at camp😆 Safe travels, Mary! Hugs!
