Happy happy Hawwwwmp Day, y’all! Hope your week is going well – I’m headed home from Huntsville today. Will be glad to get back.
My card today goes back to the pretty Tranquil Textures Suite – the Sea of Textures stamp set and the bundled Under the Sea Framelits, plus the Timeless Textures DSP. And I also borrowed from the Thankful Thoughts set to turn it into a Thank You card. Take a look-see:
This layout comes from the sketch challenge at CAS-UAL Fridays.
I started with some pretty Tranquil Textures DSP and stamped a simple sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts set in Fresh Fig – using my Stamparatus to ensure a solid image. I matted it on Fresh Fig card stock with Liquid Glue.
Then I got busy with my Big Shot and the Under The Sea Framelits. I ran Mint Macaron, Soft Sea Foam, Balmy Blue and Fresh Fig card stock thru a bunch of times, making sea grass and coral and sand dollars!
I adhered all the shapes to the card front – using mostly Liquid Glue. I did pop a couple of the sand dollars on with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
It seemed to me that any coral reef worth it’s salt (yep – I said that!) would have fish swimming in and amongst the reef. So – I cut some Balmy Blue and Fresh Fig fish with the school die in Under the Sea Framelits. Then I hunkered down and glued those little puppies down one dab of Liquid Glue at a time.
I pulled out my Pearl Basic Jewels and the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls and scattered them about on the sand dollars and starfish and that was it for the card front!
On the inside, I added some Sea of Textures sea kelp in Balmy Blue (stamped it twice without re-inking), a Fresh Fig coral and some Mint Macaron coral to a Whisper White panel.
I matted it on a Fresh Fig panel and into my Balmy Blue card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Sea of Textures sea kelp and coral on the front…
…and then I added more Tranquil Textures DSP to the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love this set, y’all! The colors in the Tranquil Textures DSP are just so soft and pretty – and have such life to them! And the images and die cuts in the Sea of Textures stamp set and matching Under the Sea Framelits are just wonderful (seriously…the sand dollars look so real, don’t they?!)! Hope you like!

You might remember a few pictures of the Man helping me to plant?
Well – what you sow so must you reap!
Yep – we harvested a whole mess of White Ball turnips on Monday morning! And Finn helped me wash them in the garden!
And then I cleaned them (this is post-clean, pre-trim!) – no thumbs. Knives are really not an option for a person with paws…
Of course, I did NOT take a post-cook picture – we were too busy scarfing them down!
Y’all – I cooked them in 25 minutes in my Mealthy Pressure Cooker! And they. Were. Perfect!! Just like southern turnip greens are supposed to be!
Finny wasn’t impressed. Thought it was much ado about nothing. A lot of work for…vegetables?!? Bleh.
Not enough bacon for him, I suppose!

You simply amaze me with working, traveling, creating beautiful cards, gardening and cooking. You are the Jill of all trades. I’m with Finn…no turnips for me! However, I do like the greens with lots of bacon or not!
This is such a mild turnip – I’m not a turnip fan either, but these are delicious. Thanks for the nice words, but…it all got the best of me this week, it seems – since I’ll be posting the same card twice! Once on not-really-Wednesday and again on the REAL Wednesday! 🙁
Such a pretty card Mary! Love those sand dollars and your designer paper background is perfect! I agree with Finn 100% on the veggies. Nice to look at…not so exciting to eat. 😉
But they’re so GOOOOD!! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂
Mary, gorgeous card. You’ve convinced me that I really really really need this bundle!
Thanks, Pat – you really really REALLY do! 🙂
lovely card. I love that stamp/die bundle! And, me, a land-locked landlubber! Love your colors and that DSP too. Question: did you cook the turnips, or the greens? I have never had turnip greens.
I cooked the turnips AND the greens! And they were SOOO good!! You definitely need to give them a shot! 🙂
I’m loving that sea stamp set and your cards with it. Those colors are great. Your turnips look good too!
They were! Glad you liked the card, Susan – especially given that you’re going to see it again on REAL WEDNESDAY! I somehow let it post a day early! 🙁
It may not be Wednesday quite yet, but the card is wonderful and the turnips are inspiring. I’m anxious to use this new bundle. They had me at “octopus”! Safe travels.
Huh. I can’t believe I let this post on Tuesday – since it was for WEDNESDAY! But – thanks very much, Sharon! And – you’ll probably see this post again on the “REAL” Wednesday! 🙂
