Stampin’ Up! Make a Difference & Share What You Love Birthday

Good morning, y’all – happy Hawwwmp Day!!

When you read this – I’ll probably have been up for a hot minute doing my pre-order from the new catalog!  Early access to new goodies and my handy discount are just a couple of the perks of being a Demonstrator!  And – I’ll have ordered my boxes of catalogs so I can get them all mailed out to y’all!  You’re going to love it, my peeps!!

In the meantime, though, y’all can be ordering the Share What You Love bundles – and a bundle with the new 2018-2020 In Color Ink Pads.  Scroll on down for the links and get busy!  To that end, and to tempt you further, I made a card with the Make a Difference stamp set and more of the Share What You Love Specialty DSP – plus some more goodies in the early release bundles.  Take a look-see:

I took inspiration for this card from this week’s Stamp Ink Paper Farmhouse Chic challenge.  Hope that you’ll make a card and play along with us!

And I’m playing with the TGIF challenge.  I went right across the top row.

I started with a Whisper White panel that I embossed in the Simple Stripes TIEF and matted on Basic Black for the card front.

Then I cut two strips of the Share What You Love Specialty DSP and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  A new Pearlized Doily is adhered over the strips.

For the oval, I cut the largest oval Stitched Shapes Framelits from some of my favorite Wood Textures DSP.  I stamped the sweet little flower image from the Make A Difference stamp set in a few spots in Smoky Slate Ink, then I adhered it to the card front.

I pulled out my Leaf Punch and punched three Basic Black leaves and gently folded the leaves to give them some dimension.  For the flowers, I fussy cut a few from one of the beautiful Share What You Love Specialty DSP designs.

For the sentiment, I used the letter stamps in Make A Difference and stamped the words in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Whisper White strip.  I snipped a banner end with my Paper Snips.

With Liquid Glue, I layered up the flowers, two of the leaves and the sentiment banner.

I added the last leaf to the sentiment banner with a dab of Liquid Glue and then stuck on the beautiful silver flower from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit.  I finished it all off with a Petal Pink pearl from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

On the inside, I added a stamped-off-once Smoky Slate flower to a Whisper White panel.  Then I added a Basic Black-matted strip of Share What You Love Specialty DSP.

I adhered the panel to a Basic Black mat with Liquid Glue, then added it into a Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a couple of Smoky Slate flowers from Make a Difference on the front…

…and I added some more of the Share What You Love Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Folks – I hope you’re already planning to snap up a Share What You Love Early Release bundle!  And don’t forget that this Make a Difference stamp set is part of those bundles!  It’s a gorgeous font – with no limit to the phrases and sentiments you can create!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

My card today reminded me of the show Fixer Upper – with Chip and Joanna Gaines.  I wish they’d come to my house and I’d just say “Yes – do what you do.  Shiplap me and sliding barn door me – and I’ll be back in 3 months”!  On that show, Chip is always wanting to be the Design Assistant.

Please meet…Chip-Finny.  My Design Assistant.

This is the face that means…nooooo….not quite, Mom.  Keep trying…

…and then, when I get it right…

Just so you know – the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls were all Chip-Finny!

  1. Love your card Mary! Perfectly layered and designed! Finn has excellent taste in accessories. 😉

  2. Robbie Miller

So glad to see Finn’s smiley face … looks like he is doing well !
    Hugs,
    Robbie

PS: Your card is very pretty, too !

    • stampsnlingers

LOL – thanks, Robbie! He IS doing remarkably! If he didn’t have the scar, you wouldn’t even know it had happened! 🙂

  3. Kay V.

What a beautiful card. and you stamped the sentiment with the little letters so evenly and perfect. Love it. I have the similar Brushwork stamp set and have never been able to make anything work for me.

    • stampsnlingers

It’s a learned thing, I think. I stamped it and then cut the strip down – don’t think I’d have much luck with a pre-cut banner!! 🙂 Thanks so much, Kay! 🙂

  4. Rita R

Great job with the Make A Difference letter stamps …. I’m thinking they may require just a bit of practice!

What a wonderful recovery Finn has made … all your great nursing and all the prayers sure made a difference! Is that one of Finn’s famous smiles???

    • stampsnlingers

It does – and you’ll want to keep close track of the various little letters!! 🙂 It’s not a full up smile – he does that when he’s wound up and excited!! Soon I’ll grab another picture of a true smile!! 🙂 Thanks so much, Rita! 🙂

  5. LindaB

SO Happy the Finnster isn’t suffering any lingering ill effects from his equine encounter!!!

    • stampsnlingers

Nope – he’s doing so well it’s sort of crazy! Thanks, Linda! 🙂

  6. I just adore everything about this card. I especially like how you have combined the pattern papers. Thanks for playing along with our tic tac toe game this week at TGIF! Smiles, Elizabeth

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Elizabeth! Appreciate the continued challenges and you stopping by to leave a comment! 🙂
