Happy Easter, y’all! Rejoice in the miracle of this day!
So – bad news first. 🙁 I’m not going to be doing a FB Live video tonight – sorry! I’m cooking today and going to our friends’ for dinner, so…it’s just not in the cards. And – I suspect y’all have plans of your own! So – we’ll make a date and meet again next Sunday!
The good news is that I have a whole card – with instructions! – to share with you right now! No sneak peek! 🙂
I felt that an Easter card was called for, so I went to my Hold On To Hope bundle – which includes the Cross of Hope Framelits. I added in some leaves from the wonderful Petals & More Framelits and a pretty little sentiment from You’re Inspiring. Take a look-see:
The layout for this white and gold card is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
And I played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge – going right down the middle column.
I started with a plain piece of Whisper White card stock, matted on Gold Foil, for the card front. To make the “embossed” pattern, I adhered a piece of Whisper White card stock to a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and then cut two of the large and lovely leaf die cuts with the Petals & More Thinlits. After peeling the backing off, I added each leaf die cut to the card front.
I embossed another strip of Whisper White in the Petal Pair TIEF (the one with the flowers!), matted it on a piece of Gold Foil, and adhered it to the card front with Fast Fuse.
I cut a Whisper White solid Cross with the Cross of Hope die as well as an intricate Cross from Gold Foil and used Liquid Glue to adhere them together. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back to wind some Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine and Gold Metallic Thread into a few loops, then popped the Cross onto the card front.
I inked the sentiment from Hold On To Hope in Versamark, stamped it on Whisper White and sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Then I heat embossed it with my Heat Tool. When it was cool, I cut it with the matching die from the Cross of Hope Framelits. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals on each end to pop it over the Cross.
I added a single heart shaped gold Metallic Enamel Shape and the card front was done!
On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to heat emboss a sentiment from the You’re Inspiring stamp set in Gold to a Whisper White panel, then I added another Whisper White Adhesive-Sheet-backed Petals & More Thinlits leaf image. I also added a little heart shaped gold Metallic Enamel Shape.
I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Gold Foil mat and then into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Petals & More Thinlits die cut – adhered with the Adhesive Sheets – on the front…
…and I added some more of the Wood Textures DSP to the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love the tone-on-tone effect with the pops of Gold, don’t you? The Hold On To Hope stamp set and bundled Cross of Hope Framelits is a lovely set – suitable for Christmas, Easter, sympathy, condolences and more – and you need it in your tool chest soon! Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix
While we were at the vet the other day, waiting in the exam room…we discovered that…
Vets do the same thing people-doctors do. They have you wait in the waiting room for a bit – until everyone starts to get restless. Then they move you to an exam room – a nurse or tech asks you some questions and leaves.
And then you wait some more…but, now you’re pretty sure SOMEthing is going to happen very very soon, so…your impatience is quieted for a bit!
Since you’re pretty sure the door will open at any moment – and the doctor will come in, tell you what’s wrong, give you some pills and you can go home and get back to your day – you watch the door intently.
Then, as the realization sets in that you’ve been duped, you give up and lay down…get comfortable and resign yourself to more waiting…
But then – from the waiting room…a sound!
Finn’s not a fan of sounds he can’t readily identify!
I recognized it for what it was – a cat totally irked beyond reason. No doubt in a kennel. Just came from a car ride. Probably with dogs – yuk!! – surrounding him.
Yoooooowwwwwwlllllll!!!
Finn. Did. Not. Like. It. 😉
