Stampin’ Up! A Tutti-Frutti Good Day

Happy happy Haaaaawwwwmmp Day, my peeps!  The week is half-way over! Whoo-hooo!

One of the sweetest stamp sets in the Occasions catalog is the A Good Day set – especially when you pair it up with the Mini Embroidery Hoops!  And that’s exactly what I did for today’s card!  Take a look-see:

Recognize the card base?  Yup – it’s one of the super cool Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes – which are free during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 purchase!).

I started with a Whisper White panel that I stamped all over with the little bird image from the A Good Day stamp set, in So Saffron ink.  Then I matted it on So Saffron card stock.

The middle panel is another piece of Whisper White, embossed in the Softly Falling TIEF and matted on So Saffron.  Then I Fast Fuse’d it to the first panel.

I used a Delicate White Doily and adhered it to the back of the card front with a little Liquid Glue.  Then I Fast Fuse’d the whole thing onto the front of my Tutti-Frutti Card.

For the sentiment, I stamped the little image from A Good Day in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Whisper White, then punched it with the new 1 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch.  I colored the little drops around the sentiment with my Pool Party and So Saffron Stampin’ Write Markers.

The sentiment is matted on a 1 1/2″ Circle Punch and then popped onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a length of Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine in a bow around the top of a Mini Embroidery Hoop, then used Liquid Glue to adhere it over top of the sentiment circle and that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I first cut up another one of the Tutti-Frutti Cards to line the card base.  Then, on a Whisper White panel, I stamped the A Good Day bird in stamped-off-once So Saffron in the middle.  Across the bottom, I stamped the circle image in Pool Party – I inked the stamp and stamped it three times without re-inking.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a So Saffron mat and then into the card base – and the card was done!

My Tutti-Frutti Envelope didn’t need a lot of help – they’re already pretty decorated!  But – I did add some more of the A Good Day circles across the front…

…and I didn’t do anything to the flap – it just comes this way!

Et Voila!  These free Tutti Frutti Cards & Envelopes are such a great start to so many different cards!  And the A Good Day stamp set is too cute – with sentiments and darling images for all sorts of occasions.  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

We have a favorite new toy here at our house!

It’s a Chuk-it with a Port-a-ballo in it.

Technically, this is not how it’s meant to be used.

But…whatever entertains the Man!

  1. Those colors are GREAT together. I like the idea of adding a couple layers cardstock – on the front and inside – to the premade card base. That’ll really fancy it up and make it luxuriously sturdy.

  2. There is something so appealing about this card. Could it be considered Vintage? I’m not exactly sure what that means in card speak, but it speaks to me of my childhood days and that is vintage! Finn is such a playful guy…does he ever do anything not cute? Well, besides play in the mud? Have a great day.

    • Might be sort of vintage! I think the soft colors and the lace peeking out lend itself to that! And yes, Finn is perpetually cute! Except for the days he’s…not. Or he is – but I don’t get the picture of the cuteness! On those days I have to reach deep for the FFFs! Thanks much, Karen! 🙂

  3. Kate

    Pretty pretty card.
What good is a toy that only serves its singular intended purpose??? Creativity is surely a sign of genius…in whatever genus. 🙂

  4. Such a sweet card Mary! Love those little birds and you’ve layered things perfectly. Those card bases are the best! So, are you’re teaching Finn to chuck the ball to himself too? 😉

    • They really are!! Thanks so much! Self-chucking balls….hmm. That might be an “advanced” trick – but…give him a minute! LOL! 🙂

  5. Adorable card with many possibilities-thank you, birthday, baby, spring….it could be anythiing. Thanks for sharing your great ideas of other ways to use a card set.
