Stampin’ Up! December Paper Pumpkin Reveal!

Happy HAWWWWMP Day, y’all!  Hope your last week (only 5 shopping days remain!) before Christmas is going well!  I just have a few odds and ends to tidy up and I’ll be ready to roll!  We’ll pick up the Prime Rib on Saturday – yummmmmmm!!  I have the world’s best – and most fool-proof! – way to cook the rib….I got hungry just typing this!

For today, I wanted to give you a look at the December Paper Pumpkin kit.  Now – I don’t love every kit that comes to the door.

Shocked that I’d say so?

Think it thru – what are the odds that every single person who subscribes to Paper Pumpkin would LOVE every single kit they receive?  We’re talking millions of folks, here…folks!  In the immortal words of Sara Lee – you can’t please all of the people all of the time!  So – we’re bound to occasionally get one we’re not head over heels for.

But. THIS one!  This one is really cool!!  Take a look-see at the Flora and Flutter kit:

I sat down to make my kit today and was done in just about an hour – with 8 cards and matching (and decorated!) envelopes!

Probably hard to see – but that’s Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper behind the lovely flowers and leaves.

The color scheme for this one is Crumb Cake, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Peekaboo Peach and Calypso Coral!

The kit is totally inclusive (except for the acrylic block – you’ll get that with your first month’s kit!) and this one even has pre-cut strips of tear-and-tape adhesive!

I did go a little beyond the basic card – stamping the inside of the card – with Crumb Cake leaves, Calypso Coral flowers and Berry Burst butterflies – all from the included stamp set…

And – you know me – no nekkid envelopes…

This is a really fun kit – and it has an awesome stamp set with it!!

Terrible picture.  Sorry.  You have Happy Birthday, Congratulations, Thank You, Hello and Have a Great Day.  On top of the wonderful butterfly stamp and the leaves and flowers!

Paper Pumpkin is a great gift idea, y’all – and since we’re getting down to the last minute – let me give you a gifting idea!

A Prepaid Paper Pumpkin Subscription makes for a wonderful and thoughtful gift for the holidays for the crafter (or budding crafter!) on your list!  If you’ve got any questions about giving Paper Pumpkin I’d be happy to answer them…and I can even send you a printable gift certificate that you can fill out and wrap up for the recipient!  Check out the different Prepaid options right here in my Online Store!

So – if you’re a subscriber – have a great time assembling your Flora and Flutter kit!  If you need a gift…let me know!

Speaking of gifts – ask me about Gift Certificates!  I’ll be happy to hook you up!

Have a great day, y’all!

My next club will start up on 3 Jan (coincidently with the arrival of the 2018 Occasions Catalog and the start of Sale-A-Bration!) and I have a few openings available.

Finn Fan Fix

The past couple of mornings have been cool and foggy.

My favorite kind of weather – it reminds me of growing up in Southern CA.  I loved that coastal fog!

Of course – I was a kid, so had no appreciation for the hazards of driving in such soup – I simply loved it – the muted sounds – the blurred…everything. 🙂

Finn and I did our morning runs in the fog.

I love how our pastures look in the fog…

…and I love the surprise of white-tails flipped in disdain at my goofy little dog “hunter”…

See them?

…I think I see ’em, Mom….

…yep…I definitely see those boogers!!…

He fancies himself quite the fierce predator.

He’s my…wait for it…”sunshine….on a foooggggyyyy daaaaayyyyy….”!!

You’re welcome. 🙂

  1. It was a great kit this month! Love the colors and the designs. Cute picture of the “hunter” in the fog. 🙂

  2. Love the photos of the pasture, Finn and Fog (close to Phineas and Ferb…well, maybe not!) I am soooo remorseful that I skipped December’s PP. Every time I see it, I cry. I know they won’t be having any whole kits available. I probably will be able to get a refill, but I want the stamps too…love the font. Do you have to fussy cut the butterflies? Someone said there was a die. I can’t imagine that is true.

    • Oh no!! I’m so sorry you skipped this month, too! Maybe we’ll get lucky and there’ll be full kits! 🙁 No – no fussy cutting anywhere. All pre-die-cut everything! My fingers are crossed that you’ll be able to pick it up, Karen!

  3. Funny you and Amy both chose PP today! I like the stamp set, but that is all. This kit uses my least favorite colors..lime green and orange, though you made cute cards. So, glad I didn’t get it. ‘Course, if I had, I could have given it to Karen! Oh, well!
That is one fierce hunter you have there. Wonder what he would do if he actually coralled one?
Love the fog too if I don’t have to drive in it.

  4. Susan K

I echo Karen’s remorse. I too stopped after the plaids of Oct and Nov, figuring they wouldnt do cards 3 months in a row. I love the card kits but not the surprise of hit and miss. I wish they’d at least tell the type of contents! . Anyway, the fierce, intimidating predator pictures are wonderful. Beautiful scenery.

  5. Kate

Your photos are beautiful, and could illustrate your book handsomely. No illustrator necessary.
Fog here is nice, too, and when accompanied by hoar-frosted trees…oh my!. Just good times to pass on driving for sure.

  6. Ellie Peckler

Prime rib – yummy. Foggy pastures – lovely. No nekkid envelopes – a Mary classic. Fierce Finn – delightful. I love reading your posts as much as looking at your card creations! – Ellie

    • Thank you so much, Ellie! I love that you love my posts as much as the cards! It’s very nice to know and hear!! Merry Christmas! 🙂

  7. Elisha

Super cute PP! And you captured the glimmer paper perfectly – I noticed it right off! Well done!! The pasture pics are gorgeous! Makes me wish I knew how to paint🎨 Okay, so you will tell us your secret to the perfect prime rib? My husband has been hinting that he’d like to try one😉

    • Thanks, Elisha – it’s a really good kit! Paint. Nope – can’t do that either. Wish I could! Prime Rib. I use this recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/221958/chef-johns-perfect-prime-rib/

I do it exactly as he says – take it out first thing in the morning so it’s at room temperature when I cook it. I have the butcher cut the ribs off and tie them back on for me. I use a calculator to figure the “on temperature” time – and then I actually put a sign on the oven door to make sure no one opens it. It’s perfectly medium rare. If you have folks who need it more done than that, I use a cast iron skillet to give their slice a little sear and cook it a little further. I’ve done it this way about 5 times now – never a failure!! Good luck! 🙂

  8. ohhhhhhhh I just LOVE the litttle mermaids!!! they are to cute for words!!!!! The pasture and fog pics are beautiful. Finn is awesome as always. I always enjoy your cute stories about him! =)
