Stampin’ Up! Cake Soiree Sneak Peek Fun Fold Birthday

I’m not even going to mention that today is one week – exactly! – before Christmas!  About this time next week, kids will be tearing down stairs and jumping on beds waking parents and anxious to see what Santa brought!

With any luck, the Post Office Santa will deliver the packages I’m sending TODAY (late much, Mary!?!) before Christmas.

And – to be clear – I mean THIS Christmas!! 😉

I hope you’re all ready and just settling back and enjoying the season at this point!  And – to help make it even merrier…head over to the Clearance Rack!  Stampin’ Up! just announced a refresh of the goodies – with savings up to 70% off!!  So – take a minute and stock up!  Merry Christmas to you!

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, thanks so much (and many apologies for the repeat of the “the internet incident”!  I do not know what the deal is! 🙁 ) – I appreciate you spending part of your last-Sunday-before-Christmas with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the re-play, here’s the link to it on YouTube (sorry that the first 10 min is gone)!

I used the coming-to-the-2018-Occaisons-Catalog bundle called Cake Soiree to make a fun-fold Birthday card.  Take a look-see:

This is a pretty easy fold to do – all the “hard” work is in a couple of cuts for the front!  All of which I show on the video! 🙂

One of the cool new goodies in the 2018 Occasions Catalog is the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit.  It contains printed card stock flower and number cut outs, silver-embossed Vellum cut-outs, some pretty tassels and mini clothespins, a length of Marina Mist 3/8″ Scalloped Velvet Ribbon and some silver Washi Tape.  In a word – it’s awesome!

I used parts of the kit for this card – the Daffodil Delight cake on the front and the Silver Embossed Vellum flowers I decorated it with.  On the inside, those gorgeous flowers are some of the larger Vellum flowers – colored with my Stampin’ Blends in Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Rich Razzleberry.  I cut a rose from Silver Foil with the die in the Sweet Cake Framelits and added that, too.

On the inside, I stamped the cake image from Cake Soiree in Versamark on the inside of the cake cutout and heat embossed it in Silver.  Then I colored it with my Blends!

The sentiment on the front and inner liner are from a single sentiment stamp in Cake Soiree.  They’re both heat embossed in Silver.

I decorated a Whisper White Medium Envelope with one of the beautiful card stock cut out flowers in the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit – adhering it with Liquid Glue…

…and then I embossed the envelope flap in the same Petal Pairs TIEF that I used on the card front and sponged it with Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lime Twist.

Et Voila!  I know it’s hard to see how to make this with words and pictures – so do take a minute to watch the video!  And be adding all these wonderful goodies from the Sweet Soiree Suite to your wish list for January!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Finn and I’ve been working on some agility “moves”.

Well.  I’m “working”.  He’s playing!  Which is how training should be for the dog-partner, yes?

One of the things is sending him to jump onto flat surfaces and wait.

So – I send him to whatever I can find.

He goes.  Turns.  Watches me for the “click” and the cookie.

It’s all about the cookies. 🙂

Is it just me, or does it look like he’s wondering…what kind of loon for a mother did I get, anyway??

Or is that just …sheesh, Mom, hurry up with that cookie!

Thanks, Kay – I cut it by running the top Acrylic cutting pad only to the center of the die. So – line the center of the die us with the middle of the front panel. Then only cover the half that you want to cut! 🙂
