Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Blooms Sneak Peak!

Happy Weekend!  Hope you’ve got big plans.

Or…no plans!  Whatever will make you happy this weekend is what I hope for you!

I want to share a most gorgeous stamp set with y’all.

Hmm.  Not much to look at, really.  Hard to know how that could turn into a beautiful card, isn’t it?

Well – this is a photorealistic stamp set made using a special process (only from Stampin’ Up! OBTW).  Stampin’ Up! made a quick little video – featuring Brandy Barnard – showing how cool this stamp set is.  Check it out!

Fun, yes?

Well, after I watched the video, I took a couple of Brandy’s ideas and ran with them to make…this.  Take a look-see:

I pulled my color scheme from the challenge at the Color Throwdown.

I started with a Crumb Cake panel and inked up the gorgeous Heartfelt Blooms stamp in Crumb Cake and stamped it several times across the panel.  Then I matted it on Pear Pizzazz.

For the art panel, I stamped the large flower image in Sweet Sugarplum in the corner of a Whisper White panel.  At the same time, I stamped it again on a second piece of Whisper White.  I also stamped it once in Pear Pizzazz on the scrap Whisper White.

With those two images, I fussy cut the large Sweet Sugarplum daisy and the adjacent Pear Pizzazz leaf and sponged the edges of each fussy cut image.  With my Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend, I colored the middle of the daisy.

I matted the art panel on Pear Pizzazz and adhered it to the card front with Fast Fuse.  With my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to guide me, I stamped the Heartfelt Blossoms sentiment in Crumb Cake ink.  Then I wrapped some Linen Thread sort of casually (that’s designer-speak for “sloppily”!!), securing it on the back with scotch tape.

I adhered the fussy cut leaf with Liquid Glue over the same leaf in the stamped image.  Then I popped the Sweet Sugarplum flower on with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  With my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker, I added some little dots around the flowers – just to sort of bring them out! 🙂

I tied my new go-to bow – the gorgeous (and deliberately “casual” 🙂 ) Billie Moan bow and stuck it on just so with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped the flower image again in the corner of a Whisper White panel and colored the center with my Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Pear Pizzazz mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Sweet Sugarplum flower on the front – on this one I colored the center with my Light Daffodil Delight Blend…

…and repeated that again on the envelope flap a couple of times.

Et Voila!  Amazing how this easy-to-overlook stamp “blossoms” when you just add ink!  Heartfelt Blossoms, like Brandy said, won’t be available to buy. Nope – even better!  You’ll be able to get it for free during Sale-A-Bration!  Start making your lists, folks!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Fleas.

Friday was Fleas Day.

Fleas Day actually started at about 9:30 the night before when I discovered the little….bugs…on my kitty, Leo.

I said a bad word (okay – three or four) and rolled the Man over on his back.

Yep.  Buried there in all his skirting and pantaloons….FLEAS!

So.  Friday became Fleas Day.  You know the drill.  Pull all the dog beds outside.  Vacuum said beds.  Spray them with flea killer.  Wash.  Twice.  Spray flea killer all over the house. avoiding the dog and cats.  Vacuum.  Thankfully this was Sonya’s day, so she did the vacuuming.

And then – the Capstar.  The kill-’em-right-this-minute-cuz-we-hate-’em pill.  Got it in the cats and Finn.  Psst – don’t tell him I used a cat pill pocket for his pill, okay?

Poor baby.  I guess the fleas weren’t too happy about the Capstar and took it out on him.  He went crazy itching!

Solution?

Yep – another trip to the Puppy Tubs.  This time with a flea shampoo surcharge…

He wasn’t impressed.

But he sat bravely for the blow dryer this time.

I said bravely.  Not happily!

When we got home, he felt lots better.  Still got some itches here and there, but…I hope we’re on the downhill side of Fleas Day.

Cuz…I hate Fleas Day! And so does the Man! 🙁

Oh my!! Beautiful card, Mary!! I love the doodle dots – how cool!! Poor Finn! And poor you! Fleas are no fun👎 He looks downright pitiful in the dryer😕 😂

    • I know! He can look pitiful-er than any Basset Hound I’ve ever known! I’ve been checking 17 times an hour and I think we’re in the clear. Got to roll kitties today to see what I can see…! Thanks, Elisha – this stamp set it gorgeous!! 🙂

  2. What a beautiful card! Love that stamp set (apparently we were on the same wavelength with that today!) and your colors are perfect. Bummer on the fleas, hope that you got them all out!

    • Weeellll….I think I got them all. One never really knows for a few days. But – I’ve got my Capstar at the ready!! Thanks so much, Amy – and thanks for reminding me of this gorgeous set on our Thursday night meeting! I really enjoyed that, by the way!! 😉

  3. Wowza! This is gorgeous! My stamp should be here by Monday and it will be the first thing I use out of the box!
Fleas! Hate ’em! Couple years ago I had to have exterminator. Both cats and the dog had been treated every month and I still have no idea how/where/when they got here. It was a pain in the tush, let me tell you. Vacuuming, scrubbing, washing, washing washing……. Hope you got rid of the nasty things without any after effects.

    • Yea – our monthly K-9 Advantix just didn’t do it this time – still not sure why…it’s been awesome for us for a very long time now! Between the looooong flea bath and the spraying and the Capstone…I am guardedly optimistic! Still have to see kitty bellies – no bath for them. THAT was just a bridge too far for me! Thanks so much, Julie – and have fun with this gorgeous stamp set!!

  4. The added touch of fussy cutting put this card and stamp over the top for me. Oh, yes, we know the battle of the fleas first hand from years ago. It was beyond unreal. We had to have the exterminator come because they had taken over our bed and living room.

    • Been there done that hated it!! Hoping I got it nipped in the bud! Have fun with the stamp set when you get it, Karen – thanks much! 🙂

  5. Kay V.

Your card is so gorgeous. You really put this Sale-a-bration set to the top of my list. Hard to move those Pandas down a notch so I will have to splurge in January I guess. Thanks for all the inspiration. We hate fleas in Oregon too.

    • LOL, Kay – yes – SAB is the PERFECT time to splurge, for sure!! Don’t forget those Celebrate You Thinlits! Thanks so much! 🙂

  6. Kate

    Beautiful card!

Psst…hey, Finn…we don’t got none of them fleas at 8700′ out here to Bailey, bro. Y’all come!
    Love, Clara

  7. Mary

I feel your pain, our house was a “flea” house last year, with 3 dogs, just use your imagination on that one! So we put them on Bravecto–bye, bye fleas in less than a week!
I love this stamp set, I hope then make more stamps with this process in the future.

    • Oh gosh, me, too, Mary! It’s so gorgeous inked and stamped! We did that flea battle many years back! The vet recommended Bravecto – but we stuck with our K-9 Advantix…with the Bravecto the fleas have to bite the animal to die. With the Advantix, it repels them to begin with! We’ve had massive success – I personally think we might have gotten a “bad” or older batch this time! Fingers crossed that this is the last battle for a bit! Thanks so much! 🙂

  8. Kathy Skinner

The Heartfelt Blooms was at the bottom of my list of “must haves” until I saw your card today! Love it! Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for changing my mind! Your poor Finn! We were blessed 30 years ago to move to a climate so dry we have no fleas…or mosquitoes! The pets don’t know what they’re missing😜

    • We had the same when we lived in Albuquerque – it was wonderful! 🙂 Glad that the card helped you to bump this beuaitufl stamp set up in your priority list! Thanks so much, Kathy! 🙂

  9. Patricia

Oh Mary! How beautiful did that turn out! I knew that was the first SAB item I wanted but now ….. I can hardly wait. Absolutely beautiful and so creative with the background too. Here’s a big congrats!
Sorry you have to deal with the fleas! They are so horrible, horrible, horrible & so much work.

    • Thank you so much, Patricia – this is one that definitely deserves to be first on your list!! Hope I get to see what you create with it! I think (THINK!) we got the jump (no pun intended!) on the fleas – keep your fingers crossed! 🙂

  10. bhholcombe

Such a pretty card and I do love that realistic looking stamp image! Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at the Color Throwdown!

  11. Bernice P

Hi, Just browsing pinterest and saw this gorgeous card… but I what is a Billie Moan bow? Thanks

    • Hey Bernice! A Billie Moan bow is a double loop bow – she’s the person who sort of started using them, so it’s just what I call them! I show you how to make one in the first 10 minutes or so on this video! 🙂 https://youtu.be/kpaAHMW1n-w Thanks for stopping by!
