Stampin’ Up! Quilted Smitten Mittens Gift Box for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Well, it’s darned near Christmas and we’ve got a pretty classic color challenge for you and for the season!  Will everyone go Christmas or…?? Be sure to check out all the projects when you get done here – and see for yourself!

So, I don’t know about y’all – but my Christmas readiness level is about where it should be.

If it was September! 🙁

Which means that quick and easy is high on my list right now.  Thankfully, we’ve got our Mini Pizza Boxes and pretty Quilted Christmas DSP and the Smitten Mittens Bundle (but its retiring so grab it up!) to help.  Take a look-see!

These little beauties are just right for a piece of jewelry, or a gift card, or a cookie (they’re even food safe on the inside!).  So…basically…perfect for all your Christmas packaging.

So…buckle-up, buttercup…you’ll be done in a hot second.

I cut a piece of Gold Foil for a mat and a slightly smaller piece of Quilted Christmas DSP and adhered them together with Liquid Glue.  I made a little “present” by wrapping a couple lengths of Cherry Cobbler (yes, not Real Red.  My bad!) 1/4″ Double Stitched Ribbon around it – securing the ends in the back with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped two Cherry Cobbler mittens from the Smitten Mittens stamp set and cut them with their matching dies in the Many Mittens Framelits.  I stamped some ric-rac “trim” across the top in Cherry Cobbler and embossed both mittens with the fun little embossing die in the Framelits.

The snowflakes are cut from some more of the plaid Quilted Christmas DSP with the snowflake die in the Many Mittens set and adhered with Liquid Glue.

I stuck a large Gold Faceted Gem on each mitten and adhered the first on with Liquid Glue – sliding it under the ribbon.  On the second mitten, I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler, then popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

See that gold Mini Tinsel?  That’s a sneak peek from the new 2018 Occasions Catalog – it comes in the Love Mini Tinsel Trim Combo Pack, paired with a roll of Powder Pink Tinsel.  Pretty!

I tied a double-length bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot, popped the whole thing on the top of my Mini Pizza Box with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals and…done!  Ready to fill with whatever strikes your fancy!  There are so many possibilities with these Mini Pizza Boxes – and I love the little Smitten Mittens tags, don’t you?  Hope you like!

  1. So cute! Love the little mittens and the sparkly trim is perfect! Great gift box! 🙂

Just too cute! Those mittens are adorable with the plaid snowflakes and gold gem. What a fun treat box for someone! 🙂 Love that gold tinsel, too.

    • Thanks, Jari – I love that darned Mini Tinsel! Was so happy to see it come in Gold and Powder Pink in the Occasions catalog! 🙂

  3. So pretty. I love what you did with the mittens. I hope I never regret not getting that set.

  4. Kate

Very nice wee box. My Christmas readiness has finally made it to November… 🙂

  5. Why is it that we are NEVER ready??? I, like you, am in September as far as readiness goes. However, our family is pooling our $$ for a Houston hurricane victim instead of getting gifts for each other. Saves SOME time. Still.
Your little boxes are fantastic. Whatever gift is inside pales by comparison.

    • Oh – that’s very sweet of you to say, Julie! And – at the rate I’m going there may NEVER be anything inside it! 🙁 You’re all doing a very nice thing for someone! Thanks very much! 🙂

  6. Adorable little gift box!

  7. Kristi

So Adorable Mary, I am so glad the pizza boxes will be around. Amazing, cute and sweet!
