Stampin’ Up! Petal Passion Party Pandas Sneak Peek

Happy Friday, y’all!  And – as I write this on Thursday night, we’re waiting for snow!

At the grocery today – it was jammed.  I’m surprised there was any bread or milk left!  People get a little goofy here in the south when we think snow might show up.

Guess we’ll know tomorrow.  Uh – today! 🙂

Now, I swore to myself that I was going to do a card with current products today.  And I seriously meant to, y’all – really I did!  And then I saw a color challenge and…I saw Pandas!  Party Pandas from the 2018 Sale-A-Bration flyer, to be exact.  And…paper from the Petal Passion DSP.  So I ran with it, and…take a look-see:

And here’s the color challenge from the Color Throwdown that led me to the panda epiphany.

And, since I’m always looking for a little design help, I borrowed the sketch from this weeks MFT Wednesday Sketch challenge.

I started with a piece of the black and white paper from the Petal Passion DSP (avail 3 Jan in the 2018 Occasions Catalog) and colored some of the dots with my Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends and my Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I matted it on Cherry Cobbler card stock.

I cut two small Whisper White circles with my Stitched Shapes Framelits dies and matted them on scalloped circles of Cherry Cobbler card stock, cut with the Circles Layering Framelits.  I adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped two of the Party Pandas (avail 3 Jan for FREE in the SAB Flyer) in Basic Black Archival Ink on Whisper White and fussy cut them.  The little guy on the bottom was holding a stamped balloon.  With no regard for “rules” I flagrantly cut it off!  I colored the top guy’s party hat with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I used a bunch of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop them onto the circles.

I colored the balloon with my Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends and added a little “light” with a non-SU! White Gel Pen. I popped it onto the card front with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

The sentiment, from Party Pandas, is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White and cut with a die from the Bunch of Banners Framelits.  I edged it with my Cherry Cobbler Marker and added it to the panda with some Liquid Glue and a couple of Mini Dimensionals on the ends.

To finish off, I added a length of Basic Black Baker’s Twine, adhering it here and there with Liquid Glue, and a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

On the inside, I stamped the balloons in Basic Black Archival Ink up the side of a Whisper White panel.  How’d I do that?  Well…I cut the balloon and string right smack off of the rubber stamp!

gasp….

You can always stamp it by sticking it on a block all by its lonesome!

I did some paper piecing and stamped the balloon on more of the Petal Passion DSP, colored the dots with my Stampin’ Blends and snipped them out.  I adhered them with Liquid Glue and added some Party Panda “confetti” in Cherry Cobbler.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Smoky Slate card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Party Panda balloons and “confetti” up the side – this time all colored with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends…

…and a little more Petal Passion DSP – colored – on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  I’m sorry to keep showing you cute stuff you can’t have yet – really I am!  But – seriously?!?  How cute is this Party Panda stamp set?  And…it sure sweetens the deal that it’ll be a FREE-with-a-$50-purchase goody in the Sale-A-Bration Flyer!  Petals Passion DSP is in the Occasions Catalog, as part of a beautiful Suite of goodies!  Hope you like – and that your wish list just got a little longer! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

Remember this picture?

That was Finn wearing his red light ’em up collar.

But – that was pretty hard to see – cuz it’s in webbing and it buries itself in all his fur!

So…I got him a new one!

Check it!

We can see him from…like…Low Earth Orbit!!

Not that he ever gets that far!

Little four-legged-furry nightlite!! 🙂

  1. What an awesome card Mary! Love those little pandas…perfect for the color challenge and that sketch challenge. Great design! 🙂

  2. Karen K

Love that panda set and the paper too. What an adorable card. Can’t wait till I can get that set. Snow? Before us in the north? I’m jealous.

  3. Stephanie

Cute card. Just FYI..we got snow in Austin Texas last nite!

    • Oh my! Snow in Austin! Wow! I’m guessing you guys handle it almost as well as we do here in Atlanta! Stay safe – and enjoy it while it lasts. Thanks much, Stephanie! 🙂

  4. Beki Rich

Really adorable card, the pandas are cute and anything using the stitched shapes framelits catches my eye. Enjoy your snow. Where we live news of snow means to be sure we have gas on hand for the generator because snow frequently causes power outages. Keeping the pantry well stocked in winter is the norm too. Wish we could be selective on where it fell on the property.

    • Love those Stitched Shapes!! And these Pandas! We had a power outage for a couple hours in the wee hours of the morning – and it hadn’t even started to drizzle yet! So – we keep the genny nearby, too! And yep – wouldn’t it be nice to have ti go where we needed it?!? Thanks, Beki! 🙂

  5. Your card is absolutely delightful! Are you hand delivering it? Do you know why I ask? You know I like to have fun with you and this is a perfect opportunity 🙂

    • Hmmm…your birthday was November 9….who am I missing?!?! You’re so sneaky!! And – thank you! 🙂

      • You sent me a beautiful card for my b’day so nope that wasn’t it. It looks like the balloons on the envelope are going up the right side into the area where the postage stamp should go 🙂

      • Oh – LOL! Yea. Well…it’ll probably go in a little envelope with a little something else! Or the PO will be PO’d! Get it!??

  6. Susan K

Now that is just darn tootin cute! I wish I had one iota of your creativity!
Our snow is supposed to come tonight–moving north from you so don’t take it all! 😂
Hope Finn’s collar doesn’t keep him awake with the bright light!

  7. Kate

Gotta love a perky panda party. Perfect!
Hope you get a nice snow. Ours either delayed or missed. Drat!

    • We got a little here – not much! Sorry you missed out on this one – pretty sure you’ll get plenty soon enough! Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  8. Someone is going to squeal when they receive this adorable card. Wow, so cute and I love the inside, too! 🙂

  9. Debra Anderson

A-Dor-A-BLE! I can’t wait to play with those pandas! Too cute and I love that you colored the DSP.
