Stampin’ Up! Lovely Friends And Daisies for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! If you’ve been following along, you’ll know this is color week!  I know all our ladies have made some beautiful projects for you, so be sure to hop thru all their blogs when you get done here! 🙂

Here’s our color scheme…

I decided to use a sentiment from the new (coming to you on 1 June!) Lovely Friends stamp set and combine it with its matching die set – the Lovely Laurel Thinlits – and some of my fave Delightful Daisy DSP.  Take a look-see:

I also played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge over at The Paper Players.

I started with a piece of Calypso Coral design paper in the Delightful Daisy DSP.  I was a little worried it would be too busy – and it was with just the sentiment!! – but it worked well once all the flowers were on.

I inked up the large sentiments from the Lovely Friends stamp set in Versamark and stamped it on the DSP panel.  Then I sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up.  I SNAILd the panel to an Early Espresso card stock mat.

I got busy with the two pretty little flowers in the Lovely Friends stamp set.  Both of them are two-step stamps.  Using So Saffron and Calypso Coral, I made several of each size flower in a variety of combinations to make a whole flower shop’s worth of flowers!  Some of the first step (the fill in) were done with stamped-off-once ink.  There’s no particular rhyme or reason to the flowers – I just had fun with the stamps!!  On the flowers where I did tone-on-tone, I used my So Saffron and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Markers to help darken the detailed stamped image.  And then I cut them all out with their matching die in the Lovely Laurel Thinlits.

Before I started sticking flowers on the card front, I used a length of Linen Thread and one of Copper Metallic Thread and wound a few loops on the card front – using a Glue Dot to adhere the loop – in the bottom left and upper right corners.  Then I started adding the flowers.  Some are adhered with Liquid Glue and some are popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a little bow with the Linen Thread and Copper Metallic Thread and adhered it on the flower in the upper lefthand corner with a little Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the ends of the threads under the flowers in the other corners with more Glue Dots.  I wanted it to look like the tails of the bow were looped under the other flowers!

I finished the card front off with some Copper Foil leaves cut with the Lovely Laurel Thinlits tucked under the flowers, some tiny Pearl Basic Jewels Embellishments in the small flowers and a few Enamel Shapes in So Saffron and Calypso Coral in the large flowers.

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Lovely Friends in Early Espresso on a Whisper White panel.  Then I stamped some more of the Lovely Friends flowers in So Saffron and Calypso Coral.  I made a couple of sticky note masks so that I could build some depth.  I added some of the Enamel Shapes to these flowers as well!

I SNAILd the panel to an Early Espresso mat and into my So Saffron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Lovely Friends flowers on the front…

…and I added a little more of the Delightful Daisy DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This sentiment from Lovely Friends is big, bold and beautiful – and looks awesome in the Copper embossing, don’t you think?  And – like I’d hoped – the pretty flowers strewn about helped to quiet the kind of busy DSP!  Hope you like – and are adding these goodies to your with lists!

Beautiful! What’s not to love? Copper! Flowers! Great sentiment! Your choices are awesome and the little dots really finish off the flowers. I may have to challenge myself with one of these challenges, just to see if I can do it!
