Stampin’ Up! Window Shopping For a Birthday Tasty Treat and a Blog Candy Winner!

Happy Saturday, y’all!  Hope you’re having a good weekend.  My plan for the day includes a hair cut – and I’m more than ready.  It’s driving me crazy!  Did y’all see the news coverage about the huge fire on I-85 that resulted in part of the highway collapsing!?  That stretch of our most congested commute thoroughfare is going to be closed for a long time – some estimates are thru the Fall!  So…traffic is going to be a bear everywhere as folks adjust and find new routes.  Which is always fun to think about, heh??

My card for today uses the fun Window Shopping stamp set, and I added a little Tasty Treats Specialty DSP to make a sweet birthday card.  See what I did there? 🙂

Take a look-see:

I used the Mojo Monday sketch this week for my layout (I turned it on the side…):

And the soft color palette is from these yummy looking cupcakes at the Cupcakes Inspiration Challenge.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock and, using the little splotches image in the Playful Backgrounds stamp set, I stamped all over it in Pink Pirouette and stamped-off-once Soft Sky and Mint Macaron.  I was channeling the sprinkles on the cupcakes!  When I had as many sprinkles as I wanted, I SNAILd the panel to a Mint Macaron mat.

I SNAILd a piece of Chocolate Chip paper from the Tasty Treats Specialty DSP to a piece of Mint Macaron card stock and SNAILd it to the card front.  Over that I adhered a Lace Doily white-side-up with Liquid Glue.

I wrapped a piece of Blushing Bride 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the card front, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

My sentiment, from the Window Shopping stamp set, is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on a piece of Whisper White.  I added the little cupcake images – also from Window Shopping! – in Pink Pirouette and Mint Macaron.

I SNAILd the panel to a Mint Macaron mat and popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals  To finish it off, I added a “faux bow” by snugly tying a short piece of the Blushing Bride 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon.

On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add a second sentiment from Window Shopping in Chocolate Chip in to a Whisper White panel.  I added a couple more Pink Pirouette cupcakes by the sentiment.

I SNAILd the panel to a Mint Macaron panel and into a Pink Pirouette card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

On the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added Window Shopping cupcakes across the bottom in Pink Pirouette and Mint Macaron…

…and added some more Playful Backgrounds splotches in Pink Pirouette and stanped-off-once Soft Sky and Mint Macaron to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Easy, peasy and tasty, too!  I love the bold sentiments in the Window Shopping stamp set and, of course, they also coordinate with the beautiful Window Box Framelits. Hope you like!  If you don’t have this bundle in your tool box, hurry to get it before the Occasions Catalog goes away at the end of May!

FINN-FAN FIX….

I suppose I’ve probably mentioned to y’all that my ponies (I include Bo in the “ponies” group) like peppermints.  “Like” being too lukewarm a word for their obsessive love of peppermints!

And – have I also mentioned that Finn likes whatever the horses like?

Carrots?  Feed?  Pills? 😉

Well.  He also like peppermints.

What’s good for the goose, Mom…

So….I’m a bad mom.  In the morning, I give him a peppermint.  You would, too, if that face was gazing up at you so pitifully!

Just one.  And only in the morning.  And he takes it so politely and gently.

And then CHOMP – SMACK – CRUNCH – CHECK ALL AROUND FOR ANY FALLEN MORSELS….look up at Mom – is this the day she gives me two?!? 😉

He.  Loves.  Them.

In the evening – here’s my proof that I’m only a bad mom, not a terrible mom! – he sits politely and eats two pieces of carrot that he purloins from the girls.

What’s up with those ears??!

He takes these just as politely…

And then CHOMP – SMACK – CRUNCH – CHECK ALL AROUND FOR ANY FALLEN MORSELS….look up at Mom – is this the day she gives me three?!? 😉

Great card Mary! Few have used that Chocolate Chip DSP – thanks for using it – I was in need of the inspiration😉 It’s good to know that Finn starts his day with minty fresh breath AND that he has such good manners☺️ I thought of you immediately when I read about the fire – hope it won’t inconvenience you too much😕 Have a great weekend!

    • Thanks, Elisha! I might not have picked it either – but it reminded me of the wrappers on the cupcakes! He does have…pretty!…good manners. Mostly. When it suits him! Other times? He’s a bit of a mess. We’re quite a bit south of the freeway problem – and we don’t go north much. There’s always the bypass – the problem is inside the loop. Thanks for asking! You have a great weekend, too! 🙂

  2. Very pretty, Mary! I love that pink ribbon added to the front. Finn is just too funny. Our dog takes food politely just like that. Hilarious!

    • Thanks much, Jari! 🙂 And – they NEED to take it politely. Since there’s all those teeth in there and everything! 🙂

  3. Lovely card! Funny Finn Fix! Have a great weekend. Hope to catch the blog tomorrow morning.

  4. Very pretty card! Love your ribbon and the sentiment is perfect. Cute pictures of Finn today too! 🙂

Beautiful card! Love the colors with the chocolate chip. Keep looking at the Window Shopping set, but haven’t used it yet. Now, maybe I will.
Funny Finn! Always hopeful-like my neighbor’s dog who sits and stares (with much hope that I will feed him SOMETHING) at my front door.
Wondering if I drove over that bridge when I was there. Stayed at hotel just off Sugarloaf. Next day took 85 to 75 to head home. So, not sure where that bridge is.

    • Buck never wanted any of our food, to speak of. So this is a little new for use! You may have driven right over the section of highway that collapsed! 🙁 Thanks, Julie! 🙂
